Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Some so-called fans will be ecstatic today. Points made etc. Silence when things are reasonable, amplifiers and volume once they get an opportunity. Pathetic as fcuk, even if they have been given ample ammunition.

Call me simple, but I just want to see a couple of quality signings in the next few days, to give Frank a fighting chance, and to see us grab more of the headlines we saw in May.

Anything that needs proper dissection can follow in the coming months, with the most important being the manner in which we do, or as we have seen, don't do business.

Can people stop waxing lyrical about fucking Woolwich in here - this shit is bad enough without having to hear about why you think those cunts are doing so well.

They have spent a hilarious amount of money to stand still and they will likely end up finishing lower than they did last season after Liverpool and City both bought 10x better than they did.

Ha, you're an absolute joke.

Dibling isn't so much better than Tel. If Tel was playing for Southampton he'd standout too
I disagree but it’s more what level they can reach. What has Tel got to grow into? He’s not technically good on the ball, not the top end pace to make up for it, or the balance when travelling with it. He’s just rash and lacking composure in the final third.

I think Dibblings got those things apart from top end pace, but his ball manipulation and balance hides that and makes him hard to get the ball off.

Its impossible to call this far out. Both are miles away from being top players but both have age on their side.

Neither are good enough to be starting for us right now anyway if we've any intentions of being competitive!

Kenan Yildiz from Juventus.

He's been one of 'Europe's Top Talents' for a few years now. Primarily a number 10 but can play wide left. Very tricky feet. So a proper Tottenham player.

He's only 20 but has already got over 60 appearances for Juve and 21 for Turkey. Fits very nicely with the age profile we are trying to build a spine of a team for.
Let's see a Don Paritici masterstroke as this guy is a square peg in a square hole.:paraticiwink:

We could also do with Savinho

:ossie:

Would take a crazy crazy spend late in the window. Classy player

From what I saw last season, Dibling looked good. How good he can be is the question, and whether we can carry further potential.

We don’t know that he would have come here if not for Havertz injury. Come on man, the chances of Woolwich hijacking this deal was always sky high. They’ve been flirting with each other all summer.

The only chance we had of signing Eze was Woolwich not coming in for him. And they did. Doesn’t matter when we agreed a fee, Woolwich were kept in the loop by Eze and his agents the whole time.

What you said makes sense. It’s quite something, then, that a fan on a Spurs forum sees this but Levy & Co seem to have been oblivious to it or unprepared for it.

Of course, I stand to be proven wrong if they actually show now that they have a Plan B ready to go, given the supposedly apparent risks with Eze.

We didn’t like it but we should have gone in for Ramsey and Grealish. They can at least get you up the pitch, really good ball retention, good technically. Grealish can draw fouls, handy if you’re putting in a lot of time on set pieces.

They’re not the top drawer signings that everyone’s dreaming of but the owners aren’t capable of doing those signings. We’re a fairly poor side that needs to start improving. We’re still think we’re the prime Kane/son team, we’re not we’re far off that. People got excited about the Burnley win but that wasn’t an encouraging performance to me. Really struggled on the ball against a promoted side. Up until the second goal the game was in the balance. If the club sit fairly idle these last 11 days we’ll be struggling near the bottom half of the league, that will happen.
Well there is a prime example of the problem with dragging our feet throughout the entire window and leaving it until the final knockings to try and get things done.

Once we have once again realised that we as a club cannot get it done with the high level targets, in the meantime all of the clubs below us in the pecking order have gone out and gotten all of the mid-range players, so we're left rummaging around the absolute guff to try and find someone that we can pass off as a reasonable signing.

It's beyond pathetic at this stage, time and time again we do the same bloody thing. Levy spent years dining out on that Van der Vaart signing, with people convinced he could pull a rabbit out of the hat at the last minute, and to play into that I'm convinced that they do actually draw out some fairly mundane signings in the final days in order to dress it up as mildly exciting on deadline day.

Just wait, by August 31st we'll be absolutely frothing at the gash for a Here We Go on Dibbling or El Khanouss.

Explain how we didn’t have a free run all of last week ? We pay the release clause and find out last week whether eze is serious about joining or not. If this was all sorted within a couple days at the start of last week, nobody would have an issue, it’s wasting 10 days and leaving us in a mess with little of the window left which has fucked us.

The release clause was never an option. Do you realise what the payment terms are? Something like 50 or 60 million upfront. No club can afford that. There’s a reason both us and Woolwich had to wait until after the release clause expired for palace to entertain negotiations.

I get the anger but the amount of people with clearly no clue how these things work is crazy. Levy and the club can be blamed for being naive or being played, they can be blamed for our appalling transfer window. But they can’t be blamed for not paying the release clause and or forcing Eze to choose us over Woolwich. It’s ridiculous.

We never had a free run for Eze. Whenever we agreed a deal. Woolwich had the opportunity and the right to match it and take Eze from us and that’s exactly what they did.
