Not wanting to “that guy”, but who are we dropping for a new signing?

Midfield three were superb. Front three create or score.

Defence picks itself.

Long season ahead and we have little depth, but none of today’s eleven deserves to sit out the next match.

And no, I’m not Daniel Levy. Just asking a question, that I probably know the answer to anyway. It’ll be Johnson. As long as his goals are replaced, I’m on board.
Johnson.

Yeah, he scored a good goal today, But he can get lost with his laziness.

Getting caught offside, during an attack, because you're to lazy and strolling (after a fantastic cross) back, is unacceptable.

Joe Cole can do one.

Levy really does need to stick to some of his model but be made to realise that the best way for us to succeed is by pushing that boat out once in a while, as he did for two bellies and Lo Costlio

Serious question however, but who satisfies that criterion that we are supposedly after or might be available?

Gibbs-White and Eze, for me, aren't brilliant. I know some think Eze is mercury, but... so who are we talking about who fits the ready-made and special?

People sometimes trot out stuff but without making actual sense. Joe Cole - not you

An argument could be made that instead of getting savinho and paz you could just get 1 player like Rogers.

Id prefer the first option though.

Nothing suggests the plan is to play 442.

........Fuck trying it too.

Sick of giving up the midfield battle.

4231 / 433 / 352

No, not thinking of 4-4-2, but more Johnson getting into the box from the wing like he’s been doing, whether from the left or the right. It’s asymmetrical, with only one winger as the traditional outlet, but it seems to be what we’ve been doing. In terms of the midfield battle, I don’t think Johnson’s been much help there.

In any case, if we do get Savinho or another player like him on the left, we’ll see what Frank’s longer term preference is and if he drops Johnson to the bench.

Took an awful selfish shot to short-circuit a promising move too, he had some bad moments today for sure.

But his goals are essential to us right now, it is what it is.

Any time a player takes the so-called wrong option, it's the definitive wrong option.

He often opens the scoring and scores other goals.

I think it's okay to bemoan some aspects of his play, as it is with all players, but ignoring his goals, which you haven't is wrong or driven by dislike and lack of appreciation.

I’m still pretty pissed off about the transfer window

Even moreso when you see a half like that and how close we could be to pushing up the table

Lack of depth will kill us when volume of games/injuries increases
Yeah I am very happy with the win and the start that we've made under Frank

You'd be mad not to be

But when the games and injuries come thick and fast we're going to be in trouble

Johnson does have an important role in the team but we need more.
I actually said when frank took over that johnson would move to the left hand side and still end up being our top scorer this year. He is just so so good at getting into goalscoring positions. If he plays enough hes a guarantee for 10-15 prem goals.

But right now were 1 injury to kudus from struggling to get forward and create openings. We will have so many games and having kudus, johnson and odobert is not enough to rotate whilst keeping quality high.
Im not counting tel, hes not a winger imo

Isn't it also about protection against injuries and options for rotation when we start the Wednesday/Saturday pattern?

I am not having a dig at you or anything...

But no team has scored against us yet :D

So no, his goals are not essential to us right now, what we need are players that give 100% and not stroll back during an attack, especially when that pass opened City up again, but Johnson was strolling back, like he doesn't need to give a F.

I was great win today, but I just wish we, as Spurs fans, would stop gushing at everything, thinking everything is hunky dory, because we win one game against City.

We still have a long way to go, and we really do need to raise our levels if we really want to compete, lazy players like Johnson need a serious upgrade.

Now, if he put the effort in like Kudus, Bale, or any other good winger, he could be one of the best in the country and demand a transfer fee between £80-£100 million... But he doesn't, his attitude stinks when he is not scoring goals.

Completely wasteful.

Fair enough... What you first described didn't sound like more of the same.

Nothing is ever constant.

Players lose form, injuries and being jaded.

It's 2 games.

We can improve by a lot. Be better all over the park. The only way to keep players at the peak of their performance or near to it, is by competition but also giving as much of a good squad games as possible.

We still absolutely need 3 or 4 players. It's Frank's job to make it work, but I am sure he would rather more than the number if players he has now.

I/We really needed that today. After being publicly humiliated by two competitors, we came out strong and changed the narrative. Definitely put the shame to one side. We simply must capitalise on our current credibility before the window shuts.

Brilliant effort, excellent result.

Johnson and one of the midfielders in the majority of games where we will need more creativity than we have so far.
