Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This fanbase is also pathetic. From all the excuse bullshit that you read on here, and how the majority of posters paint their own club here, you'd think this was a Brighton or Bournemouth forum.

WE'RE TOTTENHAM FUCKING HOTSPUR! ONE OF THE BIGGEST CLUBS IN EUROPE! TOP 10 IN THE RICHEST CLUBS! START ACTING LIKE A BIG FUCKING CLUB! FROM BOARD, TO FANS!
Fanbase is cooked tbh.

Infiltrated by a horde of soy defeatists.

Never used to be this way.

Yeah, some of the shit I see on here is like it has been written by someone paid by the club.

Absolute embarrassment. We've been utterly humiliated this transfer window and yet there are people defending it.
It's embarrassing. "Let's get El Khannous and get it over with. Let's get Dibling and get it over with. Let's get X and het it over with".

"Getting it over with" guarantees that you will be content with the bare minimum, and won't compete for anything. It also means that in 3 years time, we'll have some wasters stuck on our door because we signed them to "get it over with" in the past.

I swear most people here have 0 long-term vision. It's embarrasing.

It’s mental that we had Levy and Vinai sit on camera just weeks ago and say we want to win the league and CL with a straight face and then serve up a window like this.

Utterly fucking mental.
For me it's not unforgivable that the club hasn't gone out and signed multiple £60m+ players, for whatever reason that's just not us, be it we are indeed financially restricted, or just be choice of our own.

But it is unforgivable that we haven't addressed clear holes in our squad by signing someone, whilst we've spent the whole summer sitting on our hands and umming and ahhing over MGW, Eze, etc. tons of players who could have bolstered the squad have moved between clubs lower down the food chain than us.

We're not talking about a squad on the level of the Poch highpoint here, where you could see some logic to the argument that it was incredibly difficult to improve the squad. We have a much lower base now, even a few punts would be welcomed as we are so thin at fullback and attacking midfield.

You see the links to someone like Paz, with one season of football under his belt, and I genuinely think we could do worse than just sign up some youngsters from the Madrid B team, or Bayern, having seen the runaround their youngsters gave our first team in pre-season.

Better than what seems to be our alternative.

These super ITKs like Romano are literally taking the piss out of fans. Content creators on youtube, reporters on Sky, ITKs on X are literally making things up and disrupting the market. They can say what they want and fans are expected to believe it (and do believe it) making clubs look stupid. They are influencing the market and creating their own narrative.
That's why I said if one day YouTube, X, IG, Tiktok and all other social media stop paying for engagements, it will be fun seeing how these influencers starve like washed up fishes after tide.

Afcon lasts for four weeks from Sunday, 21 December, 2025 to Sunday, 18 January, 2026.

Six rounds of Premier League fixtures are due to take place between those dates, as well as the third round of the FA Cup and the semi-final first legs of the EFL Cup, meaning that there is a total of eight matches some players may miss.

Added to the competition time all international managers seem to demand the players arrive at least 2 weeks before the competition start for 'training' . If that happens, its a 6 week break and more PL games missed.

And not mentioned by BBC is the CL 'League phase' runs until end of January so players going to Afcon might well miss 3 or so CL games - vital for Spurs to progress and avoid the extra 2 Play off games.

So the problem is potentially LARGER than Richard Arlison Richard Arlison said, not smaller as you seem to think

This much is obvious to anyone who spends 3 minutes looking at it.

I think that one is at best not the sharpest tool in the box, but much more likely on a wind up

It’s entirely clear that the club have no actual plan at this stage of the window. OK, Gibbs White and Eze fell through, those are unlucky, but part of paying a recruitment team all this money is having options and being prepared for a multitude of outcomes.

We are flailing and have no clue who we can get. We can identify talent, fine, but we clearly have zero idea about who’s actually willing to come and if deals are doable. That’s inexcusable.

We are obviously unconnected and unprepared, and I will be shocked if we actually get impact players in by deadline day. I genuinely am prepared for us to get no one.
A billion dollar corporation and seems like our transfer department is practically non-existent, like Lange is the director and that's that.

You think MGW situation was specific to us and BFG wouldn’t have done the same to another team?

Why haven’t pool landed Isak or Guehi then?! Two players they clearly want.

Specific to the way we approached the transfer by going straight to a half arsed attempt to trigger the clause

Every player is for sale if you do it the right way and pay the right money.

And even after we failed to just take the player via the clause, we then failed to convince him to fight for his move.

I think all those other clubs have savvy operators in the transfer market who get the deal done.

We’re clearly viewed as rank amateurs and pansies by the footballing community.

We are a “mark”. You can scam and take the piss out of us all you like. That’s what we present, a bunch of unorganized halfwits who you can be taken advantage of easily.

The excuses are all run thin now.

i think they overplayed their hand this window and will fade away into irrelevance. nobody's buying this shit going forward from here
