I find it pretty funny how Vinai and Levy made it clear that one of their main goals this year was to get to work building the relationship between the club and supporters.

This window couldn't really have gone worse for that.

And I guarantee if (and it's still an if as there are a few days left to redeem it) at the end of the window we've completely fucked it, they won't come out, apologise and explain themselves. They'll either ignore it or double down and say "it was a difficult window".

It's a massive shame. With a quality LW and CAM I felt like we could have given this season a really good crack.

It's disgusting TBH. All the more I'm really believing Vinay is the snake from the scum wrecking from within, for promoting such brainless interview, delivery and interaction. And our PR department is amateur as fuck.

Wish he would stop curling his hair around the temples.
What's that supposed to mean?
I think he means this;

I've noticed it as well...
Nothing sinister.... (unless you think it looks like little inverted devil horns?)

Maybe it's a 'Red Devil's thing??

I don't agree with this. Our four most recent record signings are Davinson Sanchez, Tanguy Ndombélé, Richarlison and Dominic Solanke I think, none of whom you could reasonably argue as successful

Add in the likes of Reguilon, Sessengon, Soldado, Bergwijin, Lo Celso, Sissoko, all of whom cost big money, and our return on the money we've spent on expensive transfers is pretty abysmal.

Compare that to the likes of Bale, Dele, Kane, Walker, Eriksen, etc. and you can absolutely see why Levy is so reluctant to spend big.

He can see the evidence with his own eyes.
Then it begs the question why has the club reportedly been trying to sign big money transfers Eze, MGW, Savinho et al?

The logic of your post suggests the prime targets should have been Dibling and Bilal El Khannouss, or other relatively low cost players.

My opinion is that with the big money players that have been signed many of them have been poorly researched.

I know Tel isn't a big money signing and is still developing, but like Werner, like Locelso, the club could see they're not up to the required level, even when playing in our own team as a loan player. That leads me to think when the club scouts big money players in other teams, they're making the same mistakes. The club signed Solanke based on one good season with Bournemouth but that season isn't a sample of his constant level of performance throughout his career. I reckon Richarlison would be worth his fee if he wasn't so often crocked. There were reports of Ndombele having attitude issues at a previous club,

I am not speaking for Aberdeen, but although they are OUR record signings it could be argued they were not the top signings at the time. For example buying a striker from Bournemouth that had been let go by both Chelsea and Liverpool is not a top player, but a slightly more expensive hit and hope, as was the same with the majority of players in bold.

We do not stump up the cash for the top draw players, you can never see Spurs doing what Woolwich did with Rice or Liverpool with Wirtz. Whether they would come to us , I don't know but we have to start acting like a big club , not a richer version of Brighton or Brentford.

Also you correctly point that our return on some of the players has been awful, this is down more hit and hopes not making the grade.

Not sure about this window but the buying strategy at the club has been a joke. Every club has a bad buy but ours over the last few years are ridiculous. We bought both Tel and Odebert in the last two season and are now trying to buy a player of the same age that plays in the same position as both of them.

Sorry matey just venting.

Tel cost 40m... I would say that is big enough for a traffic cone.

Generally true. Tel looks an appalling bit of business, but tbf he deserves a chance this season. Odobert has shown good promise. Need to see more of him this season. I am optimistic that in Frank we have a coach that will get a lot from our younger players.

Our recruitment has improved a bit over the past 2-3 years tbf. The low point stretched from Ndombele to Bryan Gil. There are plenty of good buys recently:

- Vicario
- VdV
- Porro
- Udogie
- Sarr
- Bergvall
- Palhinha
- Kudos
- Danso
