Think I prefer him to Lookman. But neither move the needle enough. At least not instantly

Less plodders in the team or on the bench is always a very good thing.

Even lookman would probably move the needle quite alot.
Watching Johnson play out of position and not be able to even play a very basic pass or understand his basic positioning made me wanna smoke a pack. And I've never smoked in my life

I’d take Lookman all day. Explosive and has obviously learned his position and is experienced now. He’d give us something different on the left and can play through the middle as a striker and to be honest this is why it really makes sense.
Lee at PSG is a cracking player who is clever in the build up and loves a shot.

Bit dubious about spending 50mil on Lookman who did nothing at Fulham or Everton. Only looked good in Serie A the league that's turned McTominay into Messi. I know we're desperate for a lwf but I'd only touch him if it's a loan with no obligation.
Just have to hope that he can adapt to playing in a new position and his time in the PL has only been reflective of his pre-prime ability, I remember watching him at Charlton a fair bit and didn't really blow me away then, it is entirely possible he has only just started hitting his stride the last couple seasons because he has struggled for consistent football until his mid 20s, for comparison Richarlison despite his injury issues at a similar age has played 62 more games in all comps than Lookman. I too have my reservations but if true that a deal can be done around £40m it might be worth the roll of the dice, in all likelihood we could recoup at least half that figure selling him back to Italy if he doesn't work out here.

Lamela was one of the most coveted young talents in Europe at the time we got him as well, it's a massive shame he was so plagued by injury immediately after joining which coupled with having to bulk up and meet the physical demands of the PL blunted a lot of the flair and incisiveness to his game, however was still an incredible player for us who's defensive output was a massive contributor to the defensive solidity that was a hallmark of the peak Poch side. That rabona nutmeg goal against Woolwich alone justified his fee IMO, and I'd argue that we have only really had a better player on the right since he left for the first 5 months of Kulu's Spurs career.
I'm hoping we can do a deal for a real blockbuster left winger before the window closes as it's rather typical that we have for years and years always had a weaker right side than left side (Modric/Kranjcar/Bale all offered more than Lennon in that time IMO and then the decade of Son he was inarguably better than all players we had down the right) and now it's switched where arguably Johnson is strongest from the right and one of our biggest G/A contributors and we have £55m acquisition Kudus to provide the ball carrying and line breaking we desperately need, but the left side is largely hope and potential beyond any effective substance as of this moment.
The only people that think this highly of Lamela’s time at the club are his friends and family. He’s a cult hero of the club but to get a paragraph like this written about you, imo your top goalscoring season in the Prem, as a winger, has to be more than 5 goals.

He can’t change direction, he’s rigid

Sounds good to me.......

Yep. Gurgle is starting for Palace. He’ll be off tomorrow
Has everyone missed Martinez not even in the squad for villa due to transfer speculation?

Or Wissa or Isaak not playing or even showing up?

It doesn't really matter of they start or not even in the squad, nobody knows what will happen.
It is more likely a player wants to leave if he refuses to be involved though, that is for sure.

Sorry, I'll be sure to seek your permission before formulating my next post remembering a former player with over 250 apps in one of the best Spurs teams in my lifetime :levystare:
