Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You're right. But if we wind the clock back to June. Ange just sacked, new manager not yet appointed and I asked you what needs fixing I dare say most people would have a long list of positions.

Almost as if we were that bad last season that the fix would be more than 1 window.
We do need a LW and unless Savinho's position at City changes we probably won't.

But if we get out of this window having strengthened RW, CDM, CAM, ST then that's a successful window IMO.

I think the problem is we have bought on the left players not quite upto the job. So Solomon, Tel, Odobert, Johnson.

Players either not quite there or to young. You only have to look at Bournemouth, they knew Kudus could do damage with his runs so they double or trebled up on him knowing we can’t function well down the left side.

The window has been good but only to the extent we are now buying first 11 players which is what we needed. The likes of Odobert are great but they need to be supplemental youngsters who will take the position over many years. Having wingers both side who can press, dribble and ball carry makes us far harder to play against so for me Lookman was a very important part of that.

An attack of the below would hurt even the best teams.

Kudus Simons Lookman
Solanke

Adding the conflict in Gaza to spice up the traditional transfer deadline cunt-offs.

nice GIF

Can’t believe it took this long

So do you think it's Muani or Lookman then?

Unlikely we sign both, isn't it?

Not whilst we signed Tel for £40m

Like it or loathe it people just need to get used to the idea that Tel is going to have to play, he's an expensive investment and Frank will need to get something out of him so he needs matches.

Solanke's injury is unfortunate,h horrible timing but it is what it is.

We have £30m tied up in Odobert who needs at bare minimum a rotation role to keep his value up, a season on the treatment table followed by being frozen out sees him become another Gil going for a nominal fee or nothing at the end of his deal.

I certainly don't want the club to jump at players because they're available and fill a spot unless its a no obligation loan deal. Much better to hold fire for the right person. Frank will have to deal with what we've got for the moment, but hopefully there are a few irons in the fire, possibly some we don't know about at all yet.
