Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I found this analysis video very enlightening and it helped me set my expectations as to what to expect from Xavi. Whist his creativity is through the roof, he does have some weaknesses. Tries to force difficult passes and can throw his arms up and show bad body language, and can be muscled off the ball by defenders in tighter spaces. Maybe Bruno Fernandes is the closest comp to him out of current PL players.

They disagree a bit on his shooting but both give a strong impression of what to expect.

I think he’s going to be unbelievable receiving on the half turn and breaking pressure but he’s also going to need to learn how fall over and sell fouls…. Because they are going to foul him a lot.

The fact he thinks he signed for Chelsea makes me doubt this man’s ability to live in reality.

Clearly talking nonsense.

Wow, some of the comments here on this guy before he’s kicked a ball in the PL.

Our biggest signing since Klinsmann or Van Der Vaart.
Like a no-nonsense Neymar.
The successor to Eriksen.

No pressure on him then..

Easy then play him as a 10 not a midfielder. Bruno is a great 10 but absolutely horrific CM. For some reason United still try and play him deep like he is young Eriksen or Maddison and can run a game with passing.

I wouldn’t worry too much what you read on here.
When we signed a certain 22 year old back in summer 2019 the forum was on point.

“Him and winks surely. Future of the club”

“Winks - Sissoko
Ndombele
This would ensure we dominate midfield“

“I'm trying to think of the last time we signed a young midfielder with this level of reputation and I think it might have been Gascoigne.”

“He's possibly the biggest club signing of the century imv.”

So low key and this place don’t really go together. Signing Ndombele was almost like signing a young Maradona if you believed the TFC hype.

However by the law of averages we are due to get one of these players predictions right!

Could Simons be The One!!!

Simons work ethic is reportedly off the charts - both on and off the pitch - so if he doesn’t become the world class superstar I think he is destined to be - then it won’t becuase he is a lazy sack of shite like N’dombelly. Only thing I believe can hold Simon’s back is injury …

Simons is like a football Steph Curry before he worked with Steve Kerr.

If Frank can be that type of presence for him, there’s literally no ceiling.
I love Simons like the next man but no chance he ends up as an undeniable top 10-15 player all time, and at worst second best in his position of all time like Steph has

We don’t know that. You are right, the odds are that he won’t become an undisputed GOAT like Steph, who is up there in the Kobe/Lebron echelon now.

But the point I’m making is that nobody had a clue what Steph would become before Kerr came in and guided them to become all time great franchise.

Simons is that kind of mercurial talent in style. The professional side of the sport has been part of his life from an early age as well
