Don't know if this has been discussed?

But could Levy stepping down, pave the way for a Harry Kane return?
Why? I know a lot of people will want him to come back for one last hurrah but I think that ship has sailed. It would just be nostalgia and as far as I can work out Frank want's his 9 to be a strong presence who can hold up the ball and link play (check) but to also have a strong work ethic (Kane doesn't check that box anymore). There is no doubting he is still a good finisher but I personally think Frank would need to adjust and build around him, and I don't feel that is a prudent move for one maybe two seasons maximum.

Look, I get it .. we won it, and therefore it’s now Huge. But the fans arsed about being in it when we were managed by Poch were a minority. Some were annoyed when we blatantly sacked it off but for the most part it was accepted we were trying to target bigger things.
Sure there will be lots of revisionism and glossing over how we essentially won fuck all for quarter of a century but fuck him
This is the problem with Spurs in my opinion, not Levy.

It's supporters like these saying we never win fuck all under Levy, then when we do win a trophy, dismissing it as not being big enough.

We've won the league twice in our entire history, the last time being before most of us on here were even born. Of the handful of occasions we've come close since then, a couple of those were under Levy. We've never won the European Cup/Champions League, but the closest we've come was under Levy.

What 'bigger things' should we have been targeting exactly? Outside of the trophies we've had probably our best 2 decades in the league in our history, despite having to cope with financially doped cheats, and building an incredible new stadium.

Levy may not have been a perfect chairman, but I doubt there are many who would have done better than he did with Spurs.

Absolutely fucking buzzing today.

Mate, I go back a long way supporting this club and can tell you that nothing will change regarding being "hateful cunts" about our own players.

Many Spurs fans seem to have a need for a scapegoat, a player they can hate on and barrack from the stands. It's been a thing as long as I've been a supporter, going back to the early 70's.

Levy leaving won't change that mindset one iota.
So true

Dean Austin took some awful stick back in the day. People forget during his first season he was playing quite well but broke his leg and was never the same after that.

Other players that stand out as scapegoats... Sissoko, Bentley, BJ in the modern era

Player to buck the trend was Lamela. He started off as a scapegoat but ended as a bit of cult hero.

I'm hearing that Vivienne Lewis, the daughter who Joe considers his "heir", is a massive lilywhite. She had Glenn Hoddle posters on the wall of her bedroom and, like me, doesn't own a single red item of clothing.

Go girl!

The Europa League is, in my opinion, the third highest on the list after the Champions League and Premier League. Ergo it's the highest trophy we can realistically win.

I am by no means a Levy fanboy but I also do think that a lot of his most ardent critiques exist in a bubble where their narrative is exclusively "in house" and doesn't account for all of the other teams in the league.

Levy, for all of his obvious and clear flaws, kept us competitive in an era which saw a ultra dominant Manchester United, a dominant Woolwich. Chelsea and Man City getting financially doped up to the gills and the re-emergence of Liverpool.

We all want more silverware, but the odds have been stacked against us through factors that were outside of his control.

It was time for him to move on and he probably did overstay his welcome. But he did do some good things for us. Which doesn't excuse his fumbles but are still worth remembering.

According to Forbes THFC is worth $3.3B (£2.6B) Calculated May 2025

So Levy could sell up for about £650m?
Basically, yes.
BUT.
If he owns x% of ENIC, who own Y% of Spurs, I'm, not sure what Levy is actually selling.
Is he selling his shares of ENIC, who's value is different to the value of THFC?

I don't know and I doubt many other than Levy, Lewis and a small number of others do tbh.
Regardless, whatever he has to sell is worth a fucking fortune. He and his family could live for generations off of it.

The Europa League is a funny old thing quite frankly.
Until very recently it really hasn't been worth winning or even trying to win.
Too many games, in shitty parts of Europe, on Thursday nights, and then when you think you have a chance, you get a strong Dortmund or Atleti, knocked down from the CL. By which point your whole league season has gone tits up due to those Thurs/Sun fixtures and all the travel. And even if you did win it, your prize money was akin to winning one game in the CL and your actual prize was.....a place in next season Europa League.

Now there's CL football and NO CL teams, it's actually worth trying to compete in.
But the downside is it could only ever been won every other year. Mad in a way that nobody will ever be able to win back to back Europa/Conference leagues.

TalkShite talking shite with the “are Tottenham bigger than West Ham? Or could West Ham be bigger than them?” question but the interesting tidbit is how Brazil heard rumours of a verbally agreed Qatari bid.

I’d expect Brazil to be in some fairly well informed football WhatsApp group chats, so for that to be going around in football circles is interesting. Also how Redknapp feels it’ll be sold soon with some big offers already in behind the scenes, likely Saudi.

Brazil is permanently sozzled though

I'm not a romantic like some of you theorising the different reasons why Levy was sacked. I only know the last straw form ultra rich people is when they are not earning enough, not because we are 17th, not because they wanna win more after crying from our parade. They are putting the club up for sale, and pocket the money and call it a day. No better time IMHO..
