Match Spurs v Bodo/Glimt (A) - Champions League - Tues 30th Sept - KO: 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Some away trips to those cauldrons are hard but that’s it. A Turkish team going away to Norway on an artificial pitch aren’t going to fare nearly as well.

We should have far too much for Bodo. I know they’ve claimed some scalps but I saw nothing in our games to suggest anything other than if you are professional as a PL side you win.

I'm not sure why this thread is full of panickers already . The side is ok and there's plenty to be happy about.

Defensively it's sound

Midfield alright if it gets freedom to attack with Bergvall and Sarr

And Odobert can score so can Johnson.

Nothing to worry about .

It is that deep.

We already knew Kulu was out with no guarantee on timing to return and to what level he will be.
Maddison was out for the season whilst we had plenty of time to make moves in the TW.
We took a risk on Solanke who hasn't been fit for months and now it has backfired.
Muani was a deadline day desperation punt (who never had a pre-season) because all our other business failed.

Why bother trying to play down how crazy it is that we are in this situation?
I simply mean right now, yes, this is a pretty lacklustre rotational lineup, but Solanke will likely be back by November having had his surgery now, RKM is agreed a punt but a player who has performed at a very high level a short time ago, and not unreasonable to think he should have pushed Richy to the bench by now. Also he's a striker so surely that kind of argues against the idea we "took a risk" on Solanke, we have 3 out and out strikers and a winger who can play there for one position. Granted 2/4 are shit and 1 is average, 1 could be class, it's not great options, we've cost ourselves dearly recruiting poorly up front.

You're right Kulu and Madds are non-factors for the season but it's still £270k a week in wages lying on the treatment table between them, we can't exactly just write them off with regards to how we approach the window, I was quite impressed we ended up getting Simons in the end as thought for sure we would cheap out on BEK or McAtee with a view to becoming backup once those 2 are back.

I wanted to see Gray start today.

Also want to see Johnson play closer to Richarlison, I think they'll both benefit instead of being isolated. There is enough defensive structure in that team to afford them both to stay high up the pitch together. Odobert has to be the link man.

Odobert needs to show he can be aggressive and take his man on consistently, drive to the byline and put some low crosses in...johnson will be there for the easy pickings or cut in and shoot.

He has til Jan to really take that LW spot, its games like this he needs to be having a field day and smashing it out the park.
