Not really. Other teams will try and buy the best player they can to replace their best outgoing player. We buy 3 or 4 cheap punts, who rot at the club for years. There's been a shift this summer for the most part, but the Bale money is a prime example. Even replacing Kane with feckin Solanke is a clear example of that. There were much better players on the market available, one of which replaced Solanke ffs.

I mean, not many teams do that and most fail miserably.

Woolwich havent replaced a PEA still to this day, Liverpool only just replaced Firminho and still yet to properly replace Mane, TAA

The striker market, especially, is fucked.... people.were wetting themselves over trying to get Sesko or Gokyeres and both have been less effective than Solanke was for us.

That's the most blatant example of selective hindsight.

Solanke was not at all a 'cheap punt'. Neither was Bentley, Ndombele, Soldado, Lamela, Davinson Sanchez, Richarlison, Johnson, not Archie Gray.

At one point people were calling the club cheap and unambitious for having Kane as one of our forwards

People on here still pining for Daniel, lol 😂

There's exceptions to the rule. Solanke was just stupid. He's a bang average player, nowhere near the quality of Kane l, which is what I was referring to. For every expensive signing there's an N'Jie

It's beautiful though isn't it?

Now Daniel's gone.

It's pointless them arguing on his behalf which just adds to the comedy.

Old habits die hard.

:dembelelol:

Pot meet kettle! 😂

That statement is absolutely hilarious and off the irony scale seeing as you pop up on virtually every unrelated post to blame Levy for something or other!!!

Only yesterday you’re popping up on the Ange thread to try to blame Levy for the stadium being late and over budget with zero insight or knowledge on the subject!

Your lack of self awareness is comical! 😁

You need a lot more than 100m to sort the bang average quality of our attack.

We spent the best part of a decade quoting clubs well north of 100m for Kane and likely Son too so we should be prepared to spend those kind of sums to bring in quality anywhere near their levels.

Every time I see a lineup and remember Odobert, Tel, Richarlison, Johnson, Solanke are our attacking options it reminds me just how far away from being a top side we currently are.

It is cute people still dont understand transfers arent all paid in one go. £100m is a good amount. I suspect we will sort naming rights soon now Levy isnt there pissing about with it, which will bring more in.

Maybe, just maybe, they are telling the truth and will give it a go.

It isnt really strange to announce it either, it will appear on Companies House, so it wont exactly be a secret.
