Also what’s the point spending relatively big money on a young keeper if you don’t eventually have the idea to bring him through!agree completely, like you say, starting kinsky in some more serious games lets vicario know he is not safe.

Thing is, Newcastle haven't had to defend a trophy in over 70 years....If Kinsky is ever to be given a serious chance at Number 1 then he needs to play against the best sides with the best defence in front of him. Can’t think of a much harder test then Newcastle midweek under the lights in a hostile stadium and against a team defending their trophy
This was an outstanding save considering he didn't have to do much, didn't know he got a hand on it in the stadium!

So were all the Donny fans!I was standing directly behind his right hand (row 2) when he made that save. Had my hands on my head because I was convinced it was in![]()

Personally think he is better than vic.I’d be very very disappointed if he doesn’t! It’s not like Vic has been unreal for the last year! Loads of mistakes in our losses and almost cost us the Europa with a horrific error.

Was listening to a podcast today (can’t remember which) but one of the hosts mentioned that Kinsky did have this Aura and swagger that was evident in the stadium. As you said, he needs careful management! Last year likely hurt his confidence I bet as he was playing in a team and with a manager who didn’t care if we lost every league game. This hopefully changes under Frank!I think he has all the attributes to be a really top top keeper tbh. If we manage his development correctly, we could have an outstanding keeper for the next 10 plus years.
One thing I really noticed against Doncaster is how the players actively looked to try and get him the ball, as they know he is capable of setting up attacks on his own. He also has a calmness and aura about him in comparison to the unhinged way Vicario goes about his business at times.
What?
It was just an outstanding save full stop.
If this was at another cancer of club like Liverpool, everyone involved in the media would still be w*nking themselves silly until such point in the year 3754 when the fapping over the save would finally start to slowly begin to fade away.
It was fantastic save that required no excuses.
Top draw end of.
Tbh I think a huge part will be knowing when the time is right to make him number 1, and the manager having the stones to drop Vicario. Was listening to a podcast today (can’t remember which) but one of the hosts mentioned that Kinsky did have this Aura and swagger that was evident in the stadium. I agree! Thought it was telling that Frank mentioned that it was an error by Vic against Brighton. Not often do you see managers mention mistakes in public (even when everyone can see it was one) so that was telling.Tbh I think a huge part will be knowing when the time is right to make him number 1, and the manager having the stones to drop Vicario.
Vicario is seemingly this massive presence in the squad and has built up yhis reputation as being undroppable, but in reality he’s a very average goalkeeper in terms of purely his ability. A very good shot stopper without question, but so many other facets of his game are extremely flawed and frankly, be it with Kinsky or a new signing, is a player that a club with real aspirations would be actively looking to replace.
I wouldn't trust the previous coaching team to tell me if it was raining or not.![]()

Antonin Kinsky drops off in Tottenham training amid Vicario concerns
When asked if Spurs should be looking at an alternative goalkeeper in January, BBC journalist Sami Mokbel moved to defend the Italian in a Q&A — whilst also making an intriguing claim about Antonin Kinsky and an alleged drop-off behind-the-scenes.
"I think Vicario is an excellent modern day goalkeeper," Mokbel said.
"I get your point for sure, there have been moments when he's appeared susceptible in his own area – particularly when his area is congested. But as a shot-stopper he is very good and he is comfortable in possession, which is a key component for goalkeepers in today's game.
"I don't believe a new goalkeeper will be a priority for Tottenham anytime soon. With regards to Kinsky – he made a very promising start to life at Spurs when he arrived in January. He played regularly under then manager Ange Postecoglou because Vicario was a long-term injury absentee.
"But I've been told that his performances dropped off, even in training, once Vicario moved closer to fitness. That certainly raised an alarm for the previous coaching team."
Not sure what Mokbel is on about.![]()
