Match AS Monaco vs Tottenham Hotspur. Wednesday the 22nd of October 2025 UCL

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Hopefully Muani gets a run of games.
Got real presence about him, physical tricky, good awareness and glides over the ground.
Think once gets on the score sheet and “Feels The Love” and injury free we got a player.
I know who i’d want to mark between him and Richy…

Think from the small bits we saw today it's clear Muani is a much better possession player than Richy. I feel for Richy, but we've been waiting a long time- he really needs to get it together.

Palhinha needs a partner in there alongside him
who can set the tempo and retain the ball and with 180 vision,i have yet to see or very rarely seen any of our midfield ala Scholesy and Odegaard have “Looksey” when in heavy traffic
Should be 2nd nature……

When you see PSG with Vitinha doing the conducting and Neves working his arse off to win possession back and progress the ball and know each other's game back to front.
Bents and Sarr are too unpredictable from game to game,Also Madders has creativity in spades but can go missing also.
Until the engine room and up top sorted it will be a week to week battle.
On another note,If we dont get it sorted and no Champs League ,expect Big Mickey to be on everyones radar.(Top Man)

Agree- Vitinha is the cream of the crop CM right now, and we have no one like him at his level presently. I think Bergvall is our best chance at developing an all action CM 8 out of the current crop, but I certainly hope we get to see Bergvall-Sarr double pivot at some point- I think they'd be great in that role together. If Iraola can start Scott and Adams in double pivot for Bmouth, there's absolutely no reason it couldn't be done with Sarr/Bergvall.

Everyone knows we don't quite have enough talent right now. Well, given the squad we have right now, I reckon the best thing we can do is endure some growing pains while we get these young players the games they need to develop. It's going to be annoying and maybe even painful for a little while until that happens...

You can't really compare those two midfields. Pal will never, ever be able to offer what Neves does. He's class on the ball, Pal is a destroyer and a very basic footballer.
He shouldn't be playing every game. We lose so much dynamism when we play him, which is fine if we're the underdogs, playing for a result, but against teams we should be steamrolling we really don't need him on the pitch.

How is it, that no matter what players we buy, they always look inferior.

Whoever we play seems to have a lot more quality and skill on the ball despite on paper them having 'lesser quality players'

Monaco aren't world beaters and despite that fluke draw with City, aren't expected to get out the group......but they looked more fluid than we did for a lot of the match whereas we need three or four seconds on the ball before we can get it under control and away.

The pair of frankensteins in CM didn’t once find Bervall with a single pass. Amazing stat

Smash those two somehow and things approve. Time for Gray IMO

We looked worse when Sarr and Gray were in midfield, they had a couple of chances in the first half through us giving the ball away. The last 15-20 minutes was chaos. So much space in midfield and in and around our box. Players completely free. I don’t think it’s going to improve with them two coming in. Gray was alright at lb was terrible the 15 minutes

Couldn't watch it as I'm 3 hours ahead and even if I did stay up until almost 1am watching it, either the wifi or stream I found was poor.

Is it even worth me searching hi and lo for "highlights" ?
Discovery+ doesn't work here and I cba with useless VPN's that just never work.

Monaco haven't lost at home since February 12th.

We left with a point (as unflattering as it was).

Last season we get spanked in a game like that.

So something is definitely working, at the very least.

Need much more to work tho, granted.
Tbh we should have got spanked just that Monaco didn’t put away any of their great chances. I think this crap about last season blah blah blah is BS. It’s not as if we were any better in defence than last season was it. The 0-0 hides a multitude of issues and people hang onto the score rather than look at the over picture. We can’t create anything and we actually just as bad in defence.

I think we all have to realise we are an average side with an average manager.
It'll take a long time to rid ourselves of the footballing damage Levy did.
Positives- a point away is OK providing we can win at home...which seems to be the problem.

Wharton?

So sick of looking at the players we're putting out compared to other top teams. We're so far behind them in terms of quality & ability it's painful. Having Sarr, Richarlison, Odobert, Bergvall & Tel to rely on to score & assist is killing us.
