We will find out their intentions soon enough, well, the next year will tell us a lot.

I’d still prefer we were sold and someone desperate to win was put in their place. The new squad cost ratio stuff will help those owners wanting to put more cash in.

The forthcoming window will tell us a lot.

Yesterday should have lit a big enough fire under the owners to sort out the squad.

I won’t hold my breath.
I'm not sure that it will.

If Frank is still the coach, doubtful, but if he is, it would be ridiculous to give him loads of money when the club will obviously be very worried about whether they have to sack him. Then it'll be second rate loans because they'll not want to add to the squad and give the next manager players he doesn't want.

I think this post has a better place in this thread:

Like every other spurs fan I would be really happy getting in the top 4 again.
last season I couldnt get my head around why we held on to ange for at least 6 months too long.
I came up with the theory that the long term plan is to establish us as a midtable club.
Midtable now feels like progress after last season and Frank is the kind of manager that keeps you out of a relegation fight.
So his appointment made sense with that in mind.

I set my expactation on midtable and the hope for a cup run because I believe that’s the standard this club is going for.
Qualifying for europe every season is no longer the ambition because of the cost risk calculation.

As long as enic is in charge we won't take any risks moneywise

Of course I prefer a more attraktive style of football than Frank is showing and I hoped for better. But I dont think enic will take a risk during this season and get a new manager in...

Yesterday was the first time in my life that I was more entertained by a nfl game than a spurs match. So that was a new low point for me.

To sum it up I dont think anything will change for the better before next summer.

ENIC’s ambition is CL with as little spend as possible.

There’s no way on earth they are happy with mid table ambitions. We’d have kept Ange otherwise. 17th was a freak occurrence and not a true reflection of our level, but more a result of injuries, tactical naivety and prioritising Europa.

Maybe Im wrong and we will know more after the next summer transfer window.
But I think the times when cl was a must are over.
Our wage to turnover ratio says midtable just like our signings and manager.
The board / levy always talked about the ambition of winning things and european football.
But I don't buy it anymore.

Of course 17th was a freak finishing place for us but with all those other clubs climbing up the table and their high investment ( villa newcastle)
I can't see enic taking the financial risks that they had to take if they were serious about their ambitions.

Also I can't take anymore false hope so I think with my new expectations I won't be disappointed.
But maybe pleasently surprised I hope

Is anyone still, really, with a straight face suggesting that:
  1. Daniel Levy was actually scouting, selecting, or otherwise picking players, and
  2. The Lewis Family decided to oust him on a whim and not have been planning this since Vinai and Charrington were moved in
  3. That they would let DL spend over £300m in transfers and contracts of his own volition, knowing they were going to push him out?

There's a certain point where confirmation bias has to meet reality and common sense.

The penny will drop soon, I'm just amazed it's taken so long for people to finally wake up

Then again people spent literally every waking day of their lives blaming a puppet for all the wrongs for this club, bless. :harrylol:

Doesn't the near consensus here have it that this ongoing so called youth project featuring Gray, Bergvall, Tel, Odobert, Takai, Yang and others is actually a cynical cost cutting move on ENIC's part that will result in us becoming a rich man's Brighton?

What Brighton have been doing so well is to get their money's worth in terms of achieving respectable, and obviously profitable, league finishes while spending very little. They don't have to aim at great heights such as CL to make the whole thing work.

It's quite plausible that ENIC, having seen the likes of Newcastle and Villa arrive on the scene in addition to the usual suspects, have decided that chasing CL is too risky in the current situation and therefore dialed it back.

It goes without saying that they would gladly take it if a CL apperance fell on to their lap like this year, but they may not go out of their way to chase it or use it as the stick to measure the managers against anymore.

This Summer's window was an admission of a clear mistake from the previous window, we went out and purposely targeted Prem ready players and seniors so the youth thing now clearly isn't the strategy going forward.

Uuuggghhhh no levy was a parasite, but he was an employed parasite.....enic are and always have been responsible and need to fuck off.. I have never changed from that and have been saying since levy left, enic are still here so nothing has changed..
This has become so predictable and poisonous that I no longer watch the games, or watch very little of any football. .....
Due to the feeling that there's no point and why keep going back to the same old shit everytime.. .
If your wife cheated on you over abd over again, but kept saying sorry.. eventually you snap and realise that you should have got rid of her and her vile shit. .and you just kept letting her do this to you...so I got rid of it and when I see our results..I'm not surprised because this is what always happens, every fucking year... ..
When has ENIC ever said sorry? I must have missed it ...

I think the evidence of all that is overwhelming if we looked closely.

It's just setting themselves up for immense disappointment when it turns out different to expectations.

I'm sure I've spent years reading opinions about how we need to get 'football experience' in the club, and somehow replacing the longest serving chairman in the league with 30 years of football governance experience across UEFA with:

  • Nepo-leadership with experience in art and property
  • Eric Hinson with experience in... erm... aerospace?
  • Peter Charrington, as Chairman, who has spent his life running banks
  • Vinai Venkatesham, as Chief Executive, who oversaw basically, no success at Woolwich.

I'm glad we've FINALLY got rid of, checks notes, that one man who was "gooner, finance-driven, with no interest in football and more motivated by property and commercial activities". This bunch seems like a real change.

Sigh

People keep saying this but the board have kept the people who have bought this players in place, Lange and Paratici are still here, they also aren't letting Levy hire the manager only to sack him 2 months after he's hired, please get real.

The whole thing is on ENIC and until they're gone we need to accept the same thing.
You also laughed at people, when they said the club wasn't getting sold.

Of course, Levy did the window. Probably why he got sacked along with the cluster fuck of last season.

I mean, if he did a great job, then why has he been banned from the stadium?

Immense disappointment?

Waiting to see what they do, before drawing conclusions is not setting up for anything.

It's amazing how much BS the pro Levy have to make up, to justify their arguments.

I haven't seen anyone post that they are a going to be a roaring success.

People are happy that the bald headed fungus nut is gone.

We'll have to wait and see what the Lewis family does.

No season should be wasted. We can still finish top 5 and the FA Cup hasn't started. Sack him now and get a proper manager in

Both are part of the root cause. It’s undeniable that we were held back by Levy. I agree with your point on the wrongdoings being ENIC too but we don’t yet know that as fact. There’s been a change at their power base too but I am sceptical!

Fine, just out of interest what exactly do you expect to change?
