Kudus can retain the ball and advance it with pace. That doesn't matter much when the players around him aren't moving forward quickly and getting into good positions. I think Kudus will be a useful player but it is still an open question if he'll ever be a scorer. It's good to have a player like Kudus when he is keeping the ball from the opposition, less so when he's keeping the ball to himself in the final third.
