Ok so It was deemed necessary because fundamentally the team struggled.

I look at it like this, if Frank can get more wins than combined Draws and losses at the midway point of season, and get a win vs Prague hes doing a good job and would be well on course to maintain the minimum expectations of the club....thats not an unrealistic target and pretty good going considering.
Fundamentally the team was injured.
The minimum expectation of the club should be CL qualification via the league. When that is not achievable whoever the manager is should be sacked.

We want everything and we want it now. Football doesn't work like that. There are things to fix, injuries happens, and a new way of playing for players adapt to. At least we're not Liverpool.

Compared to last seasons 17th and 22 loses, it would be phenomenal.

So I don't get what the issue is, personally.

Just a matter of perspective, I guess.
Everybody thinks last season was par for the course. What about season before when we finished 5th with a far weaker squad than Franks got. Why are you not using that season as a barometer for what we should be... anything lower than 5th is failure. Plain and simple.

You’ll be sacking the manager every season then. Since poch was sacked, we’ve qualified for CL through the league 1 in 6 seasons. And it was even worse before Poch. 1 in 10+ seasons.

How do you expect to improve if you are sacking the manager every season? Poch would have been sacked in each of his first 2 seasons.

The league is too good (rich) to think this approach of instability will be successful. Plenty of other clubs can spend close to what we can at this point.

No they can't... only 5 clubs can and one of them is Man U which is a basket case. We should be minimum 5th. The head coach should not be allowed to hang around like a bad smell in the promise of jam tomorrow. The approach of instability was plenty successful for the Chavs so proven it can work.

Top six?
All players fit and available at their peak form then yes.
Sadly not a position we seem to be in at the moment

Richie pretty much sums our players up, he can score Burnley and gooner goals or look like a drunk navvy after an all night session
You’d hope so, yes. Players being fit shouldn’t be a problem as the only reason for injuries last season was a fat antipodean. He’s not here now.

And on top form? That’s what a manager is for. If not that, what?

Agreed Richie is a symptom of our wider problem, the paucity of quality and mindset in our squad. Nevertheless, he’s capable of better. Is Frank the guy to get that from him? I really do hope so, but I’m far from convinced thus far.

So our leading goalscorer is a symptom of our wider problem?!?!?

6th should be the minimum for this squad, anything else and you're just lowering expectations out of cope.

Arse, Liv, City and Chelsea's are better. Newcastle you can argue as well at a push (that's 5 teams right there) - other than that who's squad are you taking over ours...

Not Villas, Palace's, Utd's, Bournemouth's etc...

Villa and United definitely have arguably better squads than us.

You can definitely argue they have better squads. That isn’t an oxymoron.

For the record, yes they do. Neutrals would definitely say so. Our squad isn’t very good at all.

Your known for punching down on this club and our players so taking what you say as gospel about this team is yeah we'll just leave it there shall we...

You can be as deluded as you like mate. The results speak for themselves frankly. Villa usually get a result against us and are above us. Were miles ahead last season.

A lot of their players walk in to our team. We just have a deluded as fuck fanbase who don’t pay attention to the results or performances and inflate our players values.

We usually 'get a result' against Man City, not really sure what point you're trying to make.

Villa have a very good manager which alludes to the point about Frank and where he needs to catch up.
