Iraola is also on a bad run of form right now, and thats while only playing once a week. He'll almost certainly have rough patches like we do right now if he was here and then people will start talking about another manager from a team they never pay attention to unless they're doing well.

Not for me and he's got Semenyo who is another player who I am unsure can make that jump.

I do wonder how much panic there is within the corridors at the club.

Because I am telling you, looking at our home form over the last year, it's relegation level and there is no evidence we are close to turning it around.

I just wonder what the line of thinking is at board / ownership level, and I think Lange must be shifting uncomfortably in his seat.

There has to be some alarm. Away games are very hard to win in the PL, which means that we could feasibly find wins very hard to come by as we cannot rely on our home form, which normally saves struggling clubs.

We are in deep shit.

It might get to a stage where we need to install a battle hardened PL survival specialist.

I see the calls for Xavi etc, but hiring him to a club that can't win at home and in a relegation battle is really fucking risky.

Based in one of the most desirable cities in the world with one of the biggest fan bases in England.
It always bemuses me how so many of our own fans talk down the true size of our club
Because we repeatedly get told to "shut up and know our place" by other so called big clubs wherever we DARE talk ourselves up!

Plus last winning the League when we did doesn't really help!

I say let him settle in the #10 position first, before upgrading him to Player-Manager status.... that rarely works...

Oh, not THAT Xavi! 😏:frankfacepalm::simonstongue:

We won't be in relegation trouble under Frank. He kept Brentford in the PL for 4 years, so he will bring that experience with him and we will be fine.

But you have to look at what he's working with.

They sold three of their starting back four from last season and still has them competitive. They played us off the park earlier in the season.

Of course managers of clubs like that will have a bad run from time to time.

He's obviously a risk, any manager is. But at least he has a specific style of play, and it's a style of play that will disrupt teams. Not like Frank, who has no style of play apart from crosses and set pieces.

He was my top choice, has been for over a year.

I rate Glasner, but his style of play won't work here.

A lot of Iriola talk on here. I’d be stunned if he’s not already being set up to be the next City manager.

Yeah that's the other thing, we have no idea who has rejected us and if Frank was actually second or third choice. Iraola could have told us to jog on, although now with Levy gone, maybe that would help. I'd still be shocked if a Bournemouth manager turned us down. Can't see it.

No pressure where he is and not a huge amount if he goes to City, as he’d be following a legend at the club, so expectation would be lower.

Plus, he’s just seen us sack a trophy winner and then if we bin his replacement before Christmas, it’s not going to make us look very attractive.

Edit - I always do my due diligence before accepting a new role. If I were a manager I’d do the same, including checking out the main fan forums. I’d take one glance at this place and fuck the fuck off as fast as possible.

Counter point. We’ll pay you £10m a year for three years. And if you get sacked you still get it all.

Was all in on xavi somewhat post Ange and it's who I would court again or de zebri , tho the later isn't gonna leave a title race for a horror show

Not sold on the romantic rose tint notion of poch floating in to Hotspur way in the summer . Don't think he has the edge anymore
