Ex-Spurs Player Brennan Johnson

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'm not fond of him or his work rate as a footballer, comes across as a bit of a weasel - but we could be using him much more effectively.

For all his chopping and changing, Thomas still hasn't provided much evidence of deploying his (limited) forwards effectively. e.g. play Johnson more centrally, get him nearer the goal. Perhaps as a forward in a front 2 with RKM, and have your actual wide wingers crossing to them.

RKM Is a baller, no doubt. The rest- Kudus, BJ, Richy, Odobert, and Xavi- should all be allowed to fight it out for time. No automatic starts! Tel is fine as RKMs backup and maybe in that mix too. BJ still has a role to play though- it's not like any of our other wingers has been tearing it up...

Absolutely bang on the money.

Good pornstar name, to be fair.
Isn't that a famous basketballers name? :sonhmm:

Brennan did actually take up some central positions at times last night and he made some decent runs that were ignored.

He’s an incredibly limited player but his off the ball movement in behind is good, our refusal to play forward quickly or try any kind of through ball makes it even worse.

Even a dullard like Ange understood that if you don’t pass this guy the ball in the danger area he isn’t going to affect the game.

I think the pair of them together could be interesting, but with Tel central rather than stuck out on the left, or if he were to be nominally on the left then he should be drifting central as much as possible rather than getting chalk on his boots for the full game.

There's a distinct lack of fluidity and interchanging of positions in our play which could be beneficial if they ever tried it, no real patterns of partnerships forming on the pitch, no guile to our play despite possessing players that should be capable of it.

I knew that goals were just meaningless stats, but I was not aware that winning, too, was a meaningless stat.

You should probably ring up FIFA, I don't think they understand the point of the sport, clearly.

It’s a very small, meaningless sample size/curiosity the same way the losing streak with Bale was meaningless.

We drew that game last night because of two goals when he was off the fucking pitch, yet it will be included.

Do you or anyone else genuinely believe the Brennan of this season is influencing wins? By doing what, not scoring, not assisting and not taking his man on?!

I don't think Brennan was any worse than usual yesterday. I have pretty low expectations for him, but I thought he played a decent far post ball to Kudus early in the game and he also made a nice goal line clearance. 2 decent plays is more than usual, so I think he was on par or a bit better.

He was fucking woeful but I agree, he used his left a few times and put some good balls in…. He is what he is. Anonymous, basic and lazy but with flashes of match winning quality. I prefer him to Odobert. I would start him and move Kudus left, with two forwards
