Any thoughts on our 4 best players dropping back to under 18 after being with under 21s all season.
We did this years ago with Devine and Scarlett for the FA Youth Cup. To be honest they might as well have stayed at home such was their influence. I know the club would like to win the Youth Cup but players possibly feel they are dropping down a level and react accordingly.
LWB on the verge of first team and then he’s playing youth football.

Brighton did the same tbf, not like there's any other games for them.

Last u21 game was 8 November and next u21 game on 9 January so a 2 month gap to fill for u21 players.

And more first team squad players than required for a PL squad, and almost filling a full CL squad - although a few of our top youngsters such as LWB have been in CL squads. Mikey Moore played in a few EL matches last season, and perhaps the likes of Tynan and LWB might have come off bench in some of the easier CL games (eg Slavia) which of course are played on same days as UEFA Youth League so best compromise could be them playing say 60 mins in u19's and 30 in CL match 6 hours later to ensure first team wins.

Melvyn Kabongolo is the 11th Spurs U16 player to have been offered a scholarship commencing on 1 July 2026.

Kabongolo is a speedy RW/LW players reported to have scored 17 goals in 2023 plus assists (ie very prolific) but picked up a bad injury early in 2024/25 and haven't heard an update since. The fact he's been offered a scholarship is very positive as it means Spurs have cause to expect he's getting back to pre injury fitness/ form.

The first year academy intake for 2026/27 now looks like :

GK - Max Sievey,
Def. - RB/RCB Oscar Sandiford, RB/CB Oliver Dawes, CB Solomon Olajide,
Mid - CM Harry Hughes, CM/AM Toju Wellspring, Courtney Coffi-Smith (CM)
Fwds - Blake Bidace-Philogene winger/FB, fwd Zion Beckles, striker Phoenix Offiah, RW/LW Melvyn Kabongolo.

Surprise no LWB, T Thompson or Byfield - our top players at u18 level.

Excellent result from the squad put out though - maybe new u18 manager has had time to get to know players and picked a side based upon that knowledge. Hopefully expect similar good results in new year.
