I think if the ref hadn't given it nobody would think twice, but VAR is supposed to be for "clear and obvious" errors, and that challenge wasn't so obviously not a Pen that theh should have intervened surely?

Heard Tom Rennie on the radio today say he thinks sometimes VAR is trying to figure out how to disallow a goal and sometimes they want to allow one, and then they find a way to justify whatever they want to do. Seems right.
