Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It should be.

No intent for ball. Fine - stopping a breakaway is common and earns a yellow card. BUT:

The swinging leg and force is what makes it serious foul play. Merino's not just trying to stop a counter - he's swinging his leg to inflict pain. No need. Cynical. And Dangerous.
That's what happened Son vs Everton. Got sent off for the tackle, which ended very badly, but his red got appealed. So by that definition, it's a yellow. But I agree.

I swear not to jump on the conspiracy bandwagon but it’s becoming increasingly difficult

City have the The Grand Master of tactical fouls, manipulating and hounding referees ,
Knows to the letter how much he can get away with his little Artful Dodger Look…
Top player that he no doubt is but named and shamed now……
The SLY and Very Cunning
Bernardo Silva…….

He wins my award as The Silent Baby Faced Assassin ,of All of The Above hands down…

His record stands at over 8 yrs Prem League
44 yellows and 0 Reds
Not one match missed for accumulating yellows.
Although 1 match missed for Controversial Social Media Post…..fk the wee fella let his guard down on that one ……..

Doesnt create separation when he dribbles and doesnt have enough personality on the ball, I'm not saying he's a dud but you can't be a decent playmaker without at least one of these skills.

I was in here as an advocate for giving him time, but he's not getting better at all. Doesn't help that his manager doesn't seem to know how to attack beyond slinging in crosses, but he's showing nowhere near enough in any department.

Deuterz Deuterz remember when a certain someone on here said Xavi had GOAT potential?

Hint: same guy who said Tel & Odobert are the next Henry & Pires.

He's the type of player that'll catch fire under a new coach. He's a flashy type. Hit or miss. Sunshine player. He'd have flourished under Ange.

Frank is literally the worst manager he could have asked for. Simons been poor and struggling but we are such a negative defensive team with little runners or ideas. How can a creative 10 look good in our team? It'll be the same issue with maddison under Frank. His style requires 3 physical midfielders to win duals. Frank and Simons was never going to work
