The January window brings out the absolute worst in the squealers though.

They ignore the facts that almost nobody of note gets transferred in January. If it wasn’t for City reaching Semenyo’s release clause and Guehi running out of contract then pretty much there would be nothing to talk about. Other teams transfers has progressed about five pages during this window and stars Oscar Bobb!

They ignore the fact that something like 16 EPL clubs have done fuck all.

They ignore the fact that we’ve been, for good and bad, one of if not the most active clubs in the January market over the last five years. Let’s demand we pay another £45m for a guy who cost £8m in summer and spend hundreds of pages describing him as an £8m player.

They ignore the net spend over the last five years (albeit mostly wasted). We were actually far better as a ‘cheap’ club than we are now.

They ignore the utter dearth of available talent in January because they made a deal on FM.

They want us to try for every player (including the most ludicrous suggestions) yet berate the club if they fail (although, of course, for the most part we don’t know if the club did actually try or not).

They refuse to accept that players have agency. Evidently, London is a significant pull to get players here but not a pull in terms of keeping players that we no longer want.

They don’t want to buy players from lower- level clubs and don’t want top-level teams’s cast-offs…. Leaving who exactly?

That's doing a disservice to many posters mate, regardless of the content.

We are not other clubs and we are, by a margin the biggest and a team beset by injuries, most of which are medium-term, and on very poor league form.

There is a world of difference in pursuit of the uncatchable as opposed to scouring and then securing players to extricate ourselves from this mess.

By your words you are saying be calm and content, balanced and reasonable, it's okay with what we have got, Frank's okay and if not, other clubs near the bottom arent going to get more points than us, so take a nap, be cool. It's all good here mateys.

But hey, if those other teams do catch us and if we do go down, tough sh!t because that's better than seeking to spend your way out of trouble.

I agree and for less than 65 million.

I just don't enough has been done to identify and secure some help to this team,amd given our situation,it's quite disgusting.

Where I differ from some is the belief it can only be top top talent.

There are teams for example who have just exited the CL and elsewhere. The world and football is bloody big after all.

That’s a total strawman argument because I haven’t said that we shouldn’t be signing anyone or looking to sign anyone. I’m not saying we should be content. I want us to sign quality players and improve our squad if we can. I was happy with Gallagher as an improvement to our midfield because I believe he upgrades an injury-depleted squad.

If it were as easy as’ just open your wallet, cunts’ then everyone would be doing it. There’s a reason that they haven’t but putting your fingers in your ear, closing your eyes, ignoring logic and posting bollocks is a January trait.
 
So we put all our bets on Semenyo (who was wanted by all the other clubs), and didn’t have a plan B?

Instead they’ve allowed the squad to get weaker and done nothing about it, a the reason we can’t attract Semenyo is because of the Lewis family.

We disagree mate, which as I always maintain is fine.

I say again we are not other clubs and you either flex your arms at times of greatest need or you don't.

And as I wrote previously if we were in the relative warmth of 10th I wouldn't be saying anything other than get Frank out of the club, alongside the two above him.
