I know the mood is low after Old Trafford, but honestly, I’ve never been more confident. If you actually look at the first 30 minutes before the Romeo red card, Thomas had us playing some of the best away football we’ve seen in years. We were matching a Man United team in full flow, and it was only individual madness that cost us.
Newcastle are coming to our place on Tuesday, and I’m telling you now: Thomas is going to pull off a tactical masterclass. People are moaning about the "defensive crisis" with Romeo suspended and Udogie likely out, but this is exactly where a world-class master tactician like Thomas excels. He’s already proven he can out-think the best in the Champions League, and Eddie Howe simply doesn't have the tactical flexibility to cope with the system Thomas is building here.
Even with the injuries to Maddison, Porro, and the rest, the structure is there. We saw signs of life in that second half against City, and with the home crowd behind the project, I’m predicting a convincing victory. We are going to blow them away and start that charge up the table towards the top four spot.
Stop the panic. We have a genius in the dugout who has us competing on the highest highest levels in Europe. Newcastle won’t know what hit them.
COYS.
Thanks, think tank.

Is this satire?

Levy was too tight to pay Conte's staff before Nuno got the gig.

Levy then had to go cap in hand, back to Conte, when he sacked Nuno, after the home crowd sang; "Daniel Levy get out of our club", after Man United gave us a coating.

Levy caused the problem for himself and then had to pay off Nuno and pay all Conte's staff; after we had lost games badly we would have previously been competative in.

Levy solved nothing.

That's bullshit though. Paratici was involved with the hiring and, even from the horses mouth, he vetoed the appointment of Fonseca - because Paratici wanted a defense-minded manager. He then went through his list of those types, including Gattuso, and hired Nuno.

What you're missing there is that you're seeing a "Franatic", whereas the argument was "They are both shit - but this shit one is actually not as bad as the very shit one people are still obsessed with"

Try to look at things less 2-dimensionally. That is the problem with the people you're defending, who see Frank the failure as some fucking dumb reason to say we shouldn't have sacked the last fraud
They are both shit - but this shit one is actually not as bad as the very shit one people are still obsessed with"

you are joking??? Ange is shit but he's levels above this cunt... I dont need two dimensions to see that. One is more than enough...

Thomas is going to pull off a tactical masterclass.

Ange sort of did install a mentality that losing was ok. Sort of. He would tell the players that if they made mistakes, but for the right reason, that was acceptable. Knowing that these mistakes could lead to conceded goals and therefore, lost points. He wanted us to attack at all times and play the difficult pass, not take the easy way. Meant we scored more but conceded more too.

Now? We don’t take risks. We revel in cowardice. We only score Puskas level goals, but very few of them. Concede less at the back though. Seems to me that we are trying to copy that lot along the road by shithousing our way to wins.

I'm afraid even this small crumb of comfort isn't really true any more either. 😢

By matchday 25 last season we were 49 goals for and 37 goals against.
This seasons we are at 35 goals for and 35 goals against.

So we'd conceded 2 more goals this time last season when our first choice defence had been missing injured for 7 weeks. :davieshmm:

"Antonio Conte's appointment as Tottenham manager has surprised many in the football world. The Italian already rejected an offer to manage the club last summer,"

Jol got us in the top 6
Ramos won us a trophy
Redknapp got us CL football
AVB made our results more consistent (IMO)
Poch built a team to push towards the top 3.

The Conte and Mourinho appointments were mistakenly under the belief that we could squeeze something bigger with a manager experienced in winning the PL within 2 seasons, and I suspect Kane pushed for that. Nuno was some sort of weird Paratici experiment that Levy solved very quickly.

I think we did quite well with this until the Mourinho appointment, but then COVID/new stadium/empty stadium and the fact that he's a bit of a washed up psycho kind of really blurs the lines of whether it was the wrong fit or the wrong time.

The only real damage was done post Conte where we've suddenly become a bottom 6 team. What we should definitely try and do is undo that
I see what you guys did there. Lol. Was it so hard to even mention Ange still won us a trophy regardless of everything?

Stopping all mention of Ange at Conte years yeah. And to correct you, post Conte we weren't a bottom 6 club yet. We were 5th. Ffs. Conte era couldn't even give us a European place. We went from 8th to 5th in Ange's first season, got into EL and won the competition he got us in.

Pick a lane. You just said
Levy was too tight to pay Conte's staff before Nuno got the gig.

and now you're posting an article with Conte saying "Newly-appointed Tottenham boss Antonio Conte says he rejected the north London club in the summer because "it wasn't the right time" for him to return.

So you're wrong twice, and you've done it without help. Congrats

Not excusing Frank, I'm just calling out all the BS of those that think Ange didn't need sacking and wishing he was back.

He did, he was fecking awful.

Even during the 10 games unbeaten, the signs were that things were not right... Like the game against a god awful Sheffield Utd, and took till the 110 minute to beat them.

Its all very conviently forgotten.

You and CJJ CJJ keep flogging this dead horse made of complete straw.

Ange has 21 votes on the Next Manager Thread. That's a whopping 5.8% of the vote.

But you keep on deranging. It's mildly diverting amusement as we tumble ever closer to relegation I suppose.

Having LDS and ADS is quite something.

Can't AI one with Frank cause he's never fucking won anything... what are you...

Gordon Ramsey Idiot GIF

I can't believe there are Spurs fans who hated that night in Bilbao... shameful.

You like calling other people stupid whilst actually typing stupid things, so you might want to introspect on that a bit.

"OMG YOU POINTED OUT WE FINISHED 17TH SO YOU MUST HAVE HATED WINNING A TROPHY"
:goonermong:

The biggest irony is that you and others who laud Ange for winning that trophy are hypocritical. Both of them were at this exact same point a year ago. There's absolutely nothing to prove that Frank couldn't go on to one-up that EL win until we're out of the CL.

If that happens, will you put this much energy into celebrating both of the worse PL managers we've ever had?

Not his mum, just someone who actually understands elite coaching when they see it.
If you can't see that Thomas Frank is a world-class tactician after what he just did in the Champions League, then you’re just not watching the game properly. He’s taken a squad decimated by injuries and still finished 4th in the league phase—above PSG and Real Madrid. That’s not luck, that’s tactical genius.
The man has us competing on the highest highest levels already in Europe. Once he gets the full squad back, we’ll be doing the exact same in the league and charging straight into that top four spot. Honestly, we are lucky to have a manager of his calibre. In a few years, when he’s winning the biggest trophies in the game, half of you lot will be pretending you supported him all along.
I'll be back to remind you of this when we're lifting silverware
Decent effort at trolling

I give it a 7

Definite potential here

What happened after that?
I don't know. You stopped short of mentioning Ange by stopping at Conte to suit your narrative and agenda. I'm doing the same.

But then I decided not to. Let me tell you then. We employed a tactical masterclass genius who supposedly is also good at making us defensive, too good perhaps that we are shit boring and couldn't score this season. At MW 25 now, we are two places in the table worse, 1 point worse, 12 goal difference worse. Let me attached the table comparison to remind you again.

From 8th to 5th, there was an uptick. It's a fact. But people like you guys chose to downplay it.

From 5th to 17th, that was shit, nobody is denying it. But we won a European trophy, and many were ecstatic. That was definitely an uptick in our club history. It's a fact.

Yet sadly people like you guys chose to downplay it again.

What do you think that “a better version of Ange” means?

I take it to mean; similar attacking principles, similar bravado/belief in us as an institution, but executes it better whilst.

There’s a number of guys who fit that criteria. Frank, regrettably, was about as far away from this as one could hope.
TBH, I dont want a number of guys.

I want to instill a philosophy at the club, a style of football at the core of club, from you the to seniors.

Like Ajax and Barcelon.

That doesn't mean we can't be tactically flexible at times.

So when a player joins at say 10, they get taught to play exa ykybthe same as the seniors, so they can just walk into their positions...
