Poch 100% won't be allowed to leave the usa with the world cup coming up.... So I'm thinking they're looking at Southgate.. big plus for them is he's available and no buy out needed ect ect .. And he's experienced with top level footballers... Do I think he's a good fit? ...he's a fucking anorak!!! With the visual personality of an office bound 1970's civil servant..... ... Walking in the dressing room in his gear ... Big NO NO ...100% Get a fucking stylist onto him straight away!!! seriously, though maybe just maybe he could do a job .
Fucking Southgate? That useless sack of shyte...

I would rather the club fail, than have Southgate.

One source said that bringing on Poch before the World Cup would have an absolutely massive buyout clause
Yeah it's simply not happening. If it was just the US job in a normal year I think he'd consider walking away but to leave that job months before a home World Cup would be mental. He'd literally have Trump tweeting after him baying for blood (although if they get knocked out early we could get to witness Trump calling him a 'loser' this summer anyway).

Plus the payout would be huge as you say.

Prof on COYS. Also POK so that’s two decent sources. Also Ben Jacobs said we were talking to him. I think there’s definitely something going on.

I think it’s a perm we go for him. If we go down an interim route I think that will be a risky decision and could be a costly mistake.
If that's the case, then I hope he doesn't have a melt down and act like a prick again... Can we just a have a normal manager that knows how to manage the team just playing in the right positions, positive attack football, without the insanity Ange.

And a defence that has some kind of noodle on how to defend.

It's not a difficult ask.

Don't think those two are mutually exclusive...
If we got Southgate...

De Zerbi seems to be the best available option at the moment. He was good at Brighton and I think he will do well here.

He'll call out Lange, the board and the owners if he feels he is not being supported.

I know that with his past links to a certain player he will not be everyone's cup of tea, but he's just a manager not the morals police.

Whoever comes in will need to get Byfield, Oluesi integrated into the squad and get them minutes on the pitch - we may well indeed need them in Champs League games.

I'd suggest that if Sterling is fit, Spurs bring him in on an 18-month deal.

I’m thinking now that Poch in the Summer would be a good thing.
Let’s face it, it’s an itch that needs scratching.
I think the board will desperately want the cover that hiring Poch back will provide. We've got no shot at someone like Alonso or luring Klopp back in, etc.

I don't think it will turn out well, but it will be far better than the last 27 months and a few years of steady squad teardown and rebuilding is needed.

Poch doesn't have the high ceiling some candidates might tease, but I feel like his floor is more solid at this point.

I don't think the idea of generating a lot of goodwill with the support with a feel good hire can be discounted. They care first and foremost about money and Poch's return would sell more tickets and merchandise than any other hire they could make.

Honestly the 5 day break is abit too long. We are 16th ffs. Could have shorter trainings with some bonding or psychological sessions to build the cohesiveness and mentality.

Whilst I agree with you, these dickheads took four months to sack bubble gum boy. They still need to crunch the numbers into Lange's commodore 64 to find the 10 key criteria yet. Then that slimy gooner has to smarm his way into meeting with somebody and convince them to keep the seat warm for Poch whilst they risk having relegated the biggest club in the premier league era on their resume.

Dyche is probably our best bet to get our players wrestling in the mud. We don't have time for playing styles or arguing over shit facial hair right now. 12 0-0 draws will be fine. In the summer we can discuss De Zerbi's goatee.

I don't think they'll look at it in those terms.

Regardless of their reputation or legacy it's the manager that's most successful who will sell the most tickets and merchandise in the long run. Plus it's not like anyone buys shirts with the manager's name on the back. Well...no-one normal.

Poch would get the fanbase excited and bring fans back on board at first, but there's almost always a bit of buzz and hope at the start of the season whenever we get a new guy. The stadium was full for Frank initially and people were pretty happy for the first 6 weeks.

The main thing is always just winning games and playing (fairly) decent football. Regardless of who we bring in, if they can manage that the fans will be happy to part with their cash.

With so many injuries I guess they think a complete break is better for them mentally and physically. Hopefully they can come back with a new mindset and any niggling injuries are gone.

Do you think we will know the manager before they return?
