De zerbi does tend to fall out with hierarchy but then again vini and lange are absolutely cucks and seem like melts. It might do them good to have somebody like de zerbi as manager to light the fire under their backsides and strike abit of fear into them, especially if he does well and fans get on board and behind him.

Christ, they really think the job of the manager is to absorb the fan anger with the club.
Ange in gotten 2 more votes since the sacking of Frank and 4 more votes since the release of the overlap video, overtaking both Glasner and Iraola now.
Both Heitinger and Mason have been assistant managers, temp managers and managers to varying degrees of success but a combination of one as manager and one as the assistant might works. Heitinger at least is a hardman so won’t be laughed at or disrespected like Frank was.

Assuming it’s RDZ or Poch then must admit, I’m really torn. Wouldn’t be against Poch in the summer but appreciate the arguments on no pre-season and always the possibility that events (whatever they may be) might overtake any given situation and he doesn’t join. We’d be high and dry and late in the process. Not good.
One thing I noticed in a few of the TV discussions yesterday on RDZ , was that while there seemed to be broad consensus that his appointment might lead to problems down the road some time, his immediate likelihood of success would be high. Main reasons being he would identify the issues quickly, corral the players into thinking as a team and playing with confidence and perhaps, nearly as important, galvanise the fans into getting on board and vocally supporting the team. Apparently, really knows how to play to the gallery on this and understand its importance, which was why Brighton fans loved him. Not saying I agree with this view necessarily, but if it’s true, it’s exactly what is needed.
On the other hand, I’ve been supporting us for long enough to expect a shit show — and I’m rarely disappointed. For one part of that to change we need to at least (in the summer I guess) get rid of Johan Lange and Vinai Woolwichsham.

I don’t want him back but reality is we were a lot better with him that season than AVB, Ryan Mason got us playing much better than Jose Mourinho. I suspect Sherwood and Mason would be a lot better than Frank in our final games.
A temp manager is often better than an elite perm because the perm has alienated the players with his personality or playing unsuitable style/tactics. So all a temp has to do like Carrick is play players in their correct positions, play a brand of football that fits the players and motivate. It’s never a long term fix but it works short term.
That’s why De Zerbi might be better than Heitinger but he also might be worse. We are hiring to cover a short run of games not impose a long term style of play.
He wasn't backed properly - UCL final should have been a springboard to strengthen the squad. Plus the two consecutive transfer windows with zero incomings.

That is probably true. We need an elite temp, strong character, good motivator and someone who will play a style to suit the players strengths not impose a philosophy.
Something happened when Heitinga was appointed as assistant. Our football showed some glimpses of attacking patterns and the pressing was at times.. better? Obviously not enough, and maybe a coincidence and inevitable in relation to how bad we have been most of the season.
But i got a feeling that he would be at least enough for us to stay up this season.
Will we hired anybody?
The positive was sacking the manager, but it was way too long in coming. Merely delaying the inevitable game after game.
The positive was doing it when we had a long break before our next game.
The negative and maybe the biggest indictment if this drags beyond the weekend is that it proves conclusively that they wanted to stick with the previous manager up to the Newcastle game, which is utterly incomprehensible
If they get the interim or permanent appointment right, it will be luck over competence, if this goes into next week.
