Oh dear

poor lamb

But then he was the one who went down like a sack of potatoes when his hair was brushed

He nurtured confrontation as part of his game and style. But I do think on this occasion he may have a point. Have to say some of the abuse I see dished out at non league matches is quite cringe. It’s as if some of the anonymous online fake hate has made its way into real interactions for people with no capability of interacting in any way properly.

It's true that the 'banter' line can go too far, it's the knowledge that there's less policing and not a huge gap between fans and players that opens things up to being a risky.

Good result against a pro side, but apparently Torquay have poor away form, honestly they didn't create a lot and Chesham managed the game well. They obviously tried tactics to slow the game down from 60 minutes on and in fairness it worked but led to 17 minutes of extra time being played.

It's cynical, but if you're playing a fitter team, the stops break momentum and add in more recovery time, when you're playing a better side, it's effective, but not pretty!

Hemel fined by the FA for chanting at the ref

The behaviour in question was a chant addressed at the female referee, following the booking of a Hemel Hempstead Town player as follows:

“Back to the kitchen, you’re going back to the kitchen.”

Anyone connected to Spurs want to save Leamington FC from dropping out of the National League North?

Went up there on Boxing Day and they are currently bottom.

Need some Spurs under 21 players and coaches to keep them up.

Do any of you follow non league football at all? Go down the local club when Spurs are away and you can't go or it's an international break? Interested to know which teams you follow, if you do.

I'm a life member of Wealdstone, but haven't been to see them for a couple of years sadly. Always a great day with fierce support. I can remember an away game at Harrow Borough where the Wealdstone away support outnumbered the Borough home support!! :wansum:

So any fellow non leaguers?

(I did look for a non league thread, but there had been no posts on it for 3 years, so started this one)
I have a season ticket at Isthmian Premier League Chichester City. Drinking on the terraces... happy days. Go to 10-12 home games and half a dozen away games.

Nice part of the world. I haven’t been to their ground though. I follow Lewes in non league. Same division. I enjoy going to non league a lot more than NWHL. I like being able to stand, wander around the ground, have a drink of something worth drinking, and knowing that my money and custom are appreciated. Became a life shareholder around 15+ years ago. Love it. And when the football is bad, you can watch the sun set over the South Downs.

The old dripping pan... great name for a stadium... been there a couple of times... good stadium for the level. But to your point, this is why I don't go to NWHL either. Football sold it's soul years ago. We always support Spurs, always want them to win everything and not be a laughing stock but would much rather give my hard earned to clubs who appreciate it. Also, the standard is pretty reasonable. You get some cracking games. Much more entertaining as both teams at least try to go for it and win... our clubs have played each other twice this year so hopefully see you next season!!!

Conference South is beginning to solidify in terms of where teams are going, the championship looks a 3 way fight between Dorking, Hornchurch and Torquay, Weston Super Mare may very well creep in to the reckoning too if they beat Worthing on Tuesday.

Worthing had been looking solid favourites for the league looking very strong but they've not won in 6 games and picked up just 3 points, things are seemingly going off the rails for the title, providing they do get some form back they should stay in the playoff pack.

In the relegation zone Enfield Town, Chippenham and Eastbourne all look in serious trouble. Eastbourne is the shock of the bunch, they look like going down when they were challanging for the league last year, their collapse has been very surprising.

Chippenham lost 4-1 at home to Chesham, who now need just 5 points to secure another season at Conference South, not that I'm counting!

Probably the biggest shock of yesterday's results were Slough beating full time Chelmsford 5-0, there are some fairly loud grumblings concerning their manager Angelo Harrop. Though fair to say despite Slough's low league position (17th) their recent form has been excellent (4 wins from the last 6 games) and they look likely to rise up the league.

SpiderSpurs, what's going on with the Stones lately?

I know that it's going to take time for the new owners to make their mark, but the results are not what I was expecting. What signings were made in the recent transfer window?
