What our academy centre backs that conceded
4 against Bristol Rovers reserves
6 against Plymouth Argyle and
2 against Cheltenham’s this season in the only games they played against men, and you think they could hold their own against probably one of the best couple of sides in the world.
The gap between our academy players and the weakest main squad player we have available is massive. You will only see them played if we have no other options available and rightly so.
The academy was underfunded for a decade.
Our academy centre backs are currently at the National League (that is our 5th division) standard level.
I agree. Don't remember the exact time, but early Arse attacks easily bypassed our last defender for cutbacks. So many of our players struggle with basics
