Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Your claims that Romero has cost us X amount of points this season through personal errors (an entirely reasonable claim mind you) would hold more weight if the only actual example you give wasn't Newcastle - where he scored 2 goals and apparently magically turned himself into Rodrigo Bentancur to give away their penalty :cautious::D
OK fair enough. Even so 2-2 is one point. Against Burnley, negative contribution. WH, 0 points.

1 damn point from the games where he scored. And he stays up so much, doesn't track back. Leaves defence open. All that for so little contribution.
Why would anyone think it's good when the math is so simple. First grade stuff.

My friend I have posted the data and the math is incontestable. Christian Romero is, without doubt, our most important player since Kane left.

Hopefully there's a future where that's not the case but until then I suggest you focus your anger on the people who overseen the catastrophic decline in our overall squad quality. 🤷‍♂️

You might also want to show some appreciation to Romero whose record in Europe is quite simply astonishing - capped off by his MOM in our first European Trophy for 40 years. He's an imperfect player but surely that gets him at least a wave goodbye from you when you've found us a worthy replacement?

The first challenge with your staff in any walk of life whether you are a professional footballer or an office worker is to have your staff available and ready for duty. Think it was just 18 of 38 league games that Romero played last season. This season, it’ll be 8 so far missed when the latest suspension is up.

It's not incontestable at all.
With him as a captain we're now relegation candidates. It's the worst we've been for many decades. And you call that good? Call him important in a good way? You want us relegated?

We were poor last season but we were never in a relegation battle.
Last year it was Son who was our captain when we won the first european trophy for 40 years.

Son left and now we have Romero. Under him we are relegation candidates. Don't take what Son achieved and attribute it to Romero. Under Romero we are the worst we've been for decades.

My guy, if you can't see that the data clearly states that we win more when he plays, lose more when he doesn't and, this season, we can't even scrape a draw if he's not there - then you're just not accepting the evidence.

None of this is "good". It's horrific. But this is where we are after not signing Guehi (amongst others) in summer 2024. Your obsession with Romero is just letting the real culprits off the hook 🤷‍♂️

I haven't looked at those stats, but I maintain that the club needs to do a Liverpool, screen him for ADD, and get him on some Adderall to give him even an ounce of concentration and focus.

It doesn't mean he's "great" - all it means is he's our most important player since Kane left. (Maddison might have a claim but has played even less football than Romero sadly)

That's the crime. That's how far our squad has fallen.

But yeah adderal might help :D

He is an elite player but not a good leader. The fact that Son left and locker room went to shit tells you he can't lead anything.

I get why people are pissed at him but if we get 10 games of peak Romero, feeling like he has to atone for his fuck up, it massively improves our odds of staying up.

We know he's a big game player and as time goes on and the pressure rises, he's one of the few in the squad that you would bet on not to shrink away.

He will play a massive part in this run in.

It's called data mining. You find something that fits your agenda and then push it.

We won some early games in the season. Was it because of Romero? Most likely NOT.

Games without Romero this season:

AVL - Loss 1-2

EVE - Win 3-0

FUL - Loss 1-2

CRY - Win 0-1

Then the last couple of games he missed because he was sent off. If he is so crucial for the team, you also have to attribute the loss to him if the lose is due to him being suspended. Right?

The games above: 50% win without Romero. 33% if you include the last two. But you know that Romero would not have made us win against Woolwich, so might as well ignore that too. EVEN YOU could be that honest.

With Romero this season.

Played in 21 games. We won 5 of those. So win rate with him is less than 25%.

Not sure how you are coming to the conclusion that we are winning more with him in the team. It's false, pure and simple.

And, we won 3 of the first 4. Would you really attribute those wins to Romero? Please. We had a new manager, we beat Burnely and WH in two of them.. And you mean that without Romero, we wouldn't have?

Seriously...

Less than 25% win rate with Romero on the pitch. That's what I'm seeing.

Really terrible stat. And you do your utmost to make it sound like it's the opposite. Why are you pushing this?

I'm actually laughing at the fact that you've completely contradicted yourself in the first two lines of that post, I didn't even bother reading the rest - had to stop there, sorry. :D
Sure. And then we got to numbers. Good that you stopped because percentage and double digits may get complicated.

You may even have to think about whether <25% is better of worse than 33%.

Seriously man. Even when you push a fake narrative, the numbers don't support the story. What will you clowns start lying about next, now that your BS numbers have been exposed?

Keep the lies coming. When a player is so shit that you have to make up lies, you know it's really bad.

I think you're talking to the wrong person you complete loon :D

This crusade of yours is just embarrassing. You're cherry picking stats again. Whether he's injured or suspended is irrelevant, it's still a game not played. This, and last season, when he's played, we've won a much, much higher number than games without. That's a fact, it's black and white.

He's not perfect, he's an asshole, I think he should leave in the summer, but he's still our best player.

Anyway, good luck with the rest of your weird little agenda.
