tbh I think if we lose tomorrow there is a case for bringing Ange back for the rest of the season. I think Ange was a disaster, but the buffoons in our squad relate to him. They might just get a couple of wins with him. Maybe Keane is a better bet, but I think if we lose to Palace without showing real improvement, there is a case for one last roll of the dice. I was a solid Ange-out guy btw. He's a crap manager, but has the "up and at em" thing going for him.
First of all, no lol. Secondly I very much doubt he’d come back.

Unfortunately we'll never know. I do think it set a bad example to the players though. They loved him, and sacking him after winning the Europa just set a bad example.
See I think he set a bad example in accepting defeats, lowering standards and empowering players. And Frank did not have the ability to turn it round. Levy was 100pc right to sack him, but we hired the wrong guy. And probably made things worse in doing so. That said, just maybe he could get a couple of wins out of these tits.

Agreed.

West Ham, Forest, Leeds have players who have been in this situation. They know they need to fight. They also have fully fit squads. Our squad seem far too delicate for this battle. They'll turn up for the UCL games but in the league they look terrified.

UCL is an unneeded distraction for us as well. It'd be very Tottenham to lose to Palace and Forest but beat Madrid over 2 legs. The only silver-lining is Forest and Palace also have European football.

That said - they are all playing at full pelt and losing.

we , do, i believe, have gears to go up - whether we can or not is a different matter, but we definitely do.

I think if we lose to Palace and Liverpool then you have to bring forward the plans of the next permanent manager. Get someone in who will be here next season and the players know they need to perform for. Whether that's De Zerbi or Robbie Keane.

I get why people are scrambling to get rid of Tudor but he's been here just over 2 weeks which is nowhere near enough time to eliminate a season of shit coaching, poor fitness, lost connection with fans and shit behaviours. I get it though. We haven't had the new manager bounce but honestly... the old days of a manager being 50% motivator 50% tactician are long gone. Anyone who thinks Arry can come in and these players will suddenly run through brick walls is kidding themselves. The Forest game is the one. If after that one he is Played 5 Lost 5 (forgetting CL) then make a change because it's 3 weeks until our next game giving the next cab off the rank time to work with the players, change systems etc.

Sacking him solves nothing really. The players win again, and they are the ones who need to take accountability and step up.

I saw Tudor's assistant manager is coming in now, which hopefully helps him and the team.

No one is going to take the job with 8 games remaining though. The uncertainty is huge, which league will we be in? Which players will we have? How much money can we spend?
It's around £250m we could lose in revenue by being relegated, apparently we owe about £350m on players, so I certainly can't see us spending big on players.
What do we do, buy championship standard players that won't cut it in the top half of the Premier league?
De Zerbi wouldn't take a punt with us now, especially with the world cup managerial merry-go-round coming up, Robbie Keane maybe, Tim Sherwood is the only one I'd expect to say yes.
It's pointless changing manager now, we're asking Tudor to get his message across and make vast improvements within what, 4 games? Then we're going to bring a new manager in and expect him to do the same within 4 games again?
We've made our bed now....

You know the situation is bad when even some of Ange's most vocal critics on here can't be bothered to berate those contemplating his possible return, given that our players, appear to connect well with him. It seems they understand the circumstances and, despite reservations, will hold their noses, shut their eye's and begrudgingly see it through...

:angehug:

It's strange : some may think that we are bigger than Sunderland, Cardiff City, Leicester but it doesn't matter. The reality is a huge crisis, with or without relegation. To Championship, to League One, whatever.
It's really depressing, especially for the big probability of the owners overstaying their welcome.
The season-tickets remaining the priciest in each division, all the more enraging.

I just wish more fans would boycott. That is the one thing that would actually force the owners' hand.

Money talks! The thing is that new manager bounces are real things. But only if the players relate to the coach and are inspired and led by him. Dyche would be another possibility to go for?

We can’t change again or else this lot of players are just further empowered in seeing off another manager. Tudor has been here 2 weeks. The rot has been set in for 2 years. Even peak Guardiola or Ferguson couldn’t turn this group around in such a short period of time. I honestly believe it won’t be until after the international break that start picking up the wins for a variety of reasons.

It's a fair challenge, and that's the balance. What really concerns me is the lack of improvement, more than the results. Say we are dire again, and lose again vs Palace? I would not normally go for an affiliative manager, as they are, over time a disaster. I think Ange, and then Frank both were of that ilk. But affiliative leadership can be very successful in the short term. People feel happy, loved, engaged and up for it, even if standards slip over time.

We will be dire against palace. However, we only need to be marginally better than them to get the three points and that’s all that matters now. They aren’t playing well either.

We’ve tried everything with this group. I think hitting their own self interest is one of the final buttons to try pushing.

Leeds losing yesterday was a good result for us but the reality is they are still 2 points ahead of us and right now we don't look like a team capable of gaining 2 points. The Palace game tonight is massive. I would say its a must win but given our current circumstances I think most of us will accept that a win is highly unlikely. so it is really important that we simply don't lose and gain a point! Every bit matters.

The reality is that we'll need to beat either Forest or Leeds at home to have an chance of staying up. Hopefully West Ham drop off and 36 points is enough to stay up but the reality is we need to get 40+ to be guaranteed safety. Right now I really can't see where that 11 points comes from? That is 3 wins and 2 draws! That feels like an impossible dream right now, and 2 wins and 5 draws sounds even more unrealistic! Where do the 3 wins come from? Maybe we do need to win tonight which really scares me because I just can't see how we win tonight! Wolves away now looks a rotten fixture. Forest, Leeds and Everton at home are the only other winnable fixtures I see but we won't be odds on favourites to win any of them games now. Its a very scary situation. I can't see us making 40 points so we'll be relying on West Ham to drop off and not get to 35 points. I think we'll prob end up on around 36 or 37 points.

When you say they aren't playing well ... true ... but have a look at their last 5 results vs ours ...
