I feel odd about this game, the doom mongering is certainly deserved, even at the best of times it's a ghastly fixture. But I still have a glimmer of hope burning. Like a windproof zippo in a terrible storm, but somehow it's still fucking burning...

I'm hoping they have reached that point of lowness where it can only get better this week. Just show something resembling fighting for your lives

No it isn't the general sentiment at all that we don't give our youth a chance.
It may be your view and Crockett and a couple of others that overrate the youth team. That is far from a general consensus.
The general view from those I gather from those that go to matches, is we give youth a chance where they are good enough. There was Kane, Skipp, Winks, Townsend through our academy, be it Dele, Rose, Gray etc where acquired, but apart from that the general consensus is our academy is just not good enough, and there has been nobody from the academy that has ever gone and had a decent career that we let go early, and bar Moore, none of the current academy or loan players look good enough

This is the kind of game a team like Liverpool will not look forward to. It's hard to keep an edge when you come in knowing the other side is struggling. If Spurs park the bus I think they'll lose. The key might be to get an early goal and throw everything you've got at them to come up with a second.
