Player Archie Gray

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

apparently it’s too much to expect a midfielder to win back possession, AND then contribute to the attacking phase of play.

Apparently there’s more to midfield play than just running and sliding around showing faux leadership

Apparently this “championship level player” is more than capable of knitting our play together but it’s too much to expect of experienced midfielders that are costing the club nearly half a million a week.

We wasted 4 months of Gray’s development, much to the club’s detriment.

I know its a game of opinions but always thought you could see he had something, sometimes you can just tell. Of course he was inconsistant, playing all over the park at 18/19 in a dysfunctional team under 2 abysmal managers. There's no doubt he'll be our captain in the not too distant future. Sort of get Perryman, Mabbutt vibes from him, just a natural leader.

The guy has an amazing footballing brain, look at some of the positions he has been put, I bet he could even do a job in goal.

Last night he dominated, for an 18/19 year old to do that I thought he was brilliant. Best performances for us.

While it was clearly not the plan, I actually reckon all the hardship and multiple positions he's played over the past 18 months might actually be really decent for his development in the long run.

He's got so much additional top-level gametime he never would've got if we'd solely played him in midfield and I think it will have done wonders for his confidence, positional awareness and general understanding of the game.

When he arrived at the club he looked absolutely miles off it when we played him in the middle, so these fucked-up circumstances have weirdly given us a way of integrating him without compromising the team and now he's finally starting to believe and show what he's capable of in his best position.

Had a very good game last night and I’ve been his harshest critic but I’m yet to see him deliver anything close to this in the premier league . People saying he’s been our best player last 6 weeks is worrying cos I didn’t even notice he was playing against Liverpool last week . Huge praise for last night but let’s see if the same player turns up on Sunday . Fingers crossed he does .

Disagree that we wasted his development

Playing FB and CB was always going to help a young player understand the different positional requirements of the game.

Watch Gray last night, he covers the defense everytime a player gets caught out and then knows how to play that position whilst he’s covering them

Seemed to immediately pick up up Cardozo everytime they tried to build from the back. Nullifying their build up. Let to Griezman having to come deep to be playmaker.
Good tactics and obv led to a great game from him

Should start signing his name to the tune of Danny Rose. ARCHIE, ARCHIE GRAYYY! The kid is a future star. We should show some fucking ambition so gems like Gray, Bergvall, Vuskovic etc. won't feel like they're wasting their careers here.
