Think it was a direct consequence of Vinai and Lange being more concerned about their own reputations rather than what was best for the club. Frank was 'their man' so they doubled down against the evidence of their eyes and prayed for an Arteta-style turnaround. Frank is clear evidence that the 'managers need time' cliche is a load of bollocks - some managers actively do a lot of damage if you keep them around too long.
Levy for all his sins was his own boss and had no-one to impress or report to so would've probably sacked him around Dec when the writing was on the wall (and no, I don't want Levy back in case anyone thinks I'm a fan).

Honestly can’t believe the contrast from then to now. After City away, I was walking around Manchester laughing at the whole city. Now the whole fucking planet is walking around laughing at us. How we allowed this decline to take form and progress is unforgivable. Vinai needs to be hung, drawn and quartered.

Not winning anything is not why he failed, it was the fact that his only meaningful coaching job was Brentford. He had never had to manage important players with egos, never had 60k fans at home matches, never had this kind of scrutiny. He’s never had to do more than be polite and run the numbers on his spreadsheets.
At Brentford you can lose 10 games in a row, as long as you stay up it’s a great season. Nobody pays attention to Brentford. Tottenham is a club of pedigree and history followed by millions of people. He simply couldn’t handle it. Being nice and preparing good set pieces is nowhere near enough to succeed here.
I do believe however that if we’d held on to win the Super Cup, his tenure would have gone completely differently. He needed the players to buy-in and winning that cup would have earned him respect.
I probably should've phrased it better. He didn't achieve anything of note to get a job like Spurs. There was already a similar case with Potter going to Chelsea.
Tbh I think the players all bought in, we were getting results and sitting in 3rd in October.
To me, it was the lack of identity Frank had. It was always what the opposition were planning to do rather than what we were going to do. There was even talk of him throwing out the whole game plan as soon as the team sheets came in for the game.
Frank was a huge mistake but I don't think the full breadth of the reasons were immediately apparent.

90% of this shit show lands at his door. Our players may be a shower of shiftless bastards, but they aren’t near relegation level bad. Our recruitment may be shambolic, but gave us a squad that isn’t near relegation level bad.
Getting rid of/ losing our Chairman, Manager, Sporting Director, Captain and top scorer near enough at the same time is bad, but not relegation level bad.

He was here only a short period of time to try and unravel all of the harm that fat cunt did to this team and their mentality.
And he was handicapped with no final third to boot.
It ended and he's gone and I'm pumped to have RDZ here, but let's not try this little reframe job to make him out to be the villian that's turned these players into soft puddles that can't be reformed into functional footballers.
That was a deep, deep wrecking job done by ANGE and his constant losing for one whole season... telling them it was just fine, let's go back out there and play the same way and do it again and again and again.
And, again, ultimately it's Baldcunt who this falls on, really, as he should have sacked the fat cunt before his losing, mentality-killing rot was set so deep.
Imagine trying to frame Frank for the crimes of Ange Postacoglou tho. ahaha

I don’t agree for a second that the squad is weaker this season than last.
The owners are idiots and should never have hired the clown in the first place, but then did leave it too long to sack him. Couple of percentage points there.
Injury crisis is multi season, but is worse last season than this. I’d suggest we’ve had less of a difference between ideal team and actual team this season than last. This season? No Maddison or Kulu, but could play Simons. Last season, no Vicario, VDV or Romero, so let’s have Forster, Davies and Gray. Much worse last season.
Romero being suspended? Keep reading he’s shite, so shouldn’t matter. Referee decisions? Aye, OK, couple of percentage points there too.
