Player João Palhinha

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Unbearably slow and ponderous when he came in and pulled the momentum out of our midfield.

I enjoyed watching him play for a high-tempo Fulham but the limitations are too glaring in our shirt, especially when chasing the game (as we've been all season).

Think he only came on cos Bentancur was coming back from injury - pretty common to have a pre-arranged 60-70 min sub in when it's their first game back. Didn't really make sense tactically.

Notice it’s absolute crickets in here for this pile of garbage.

we basically gave Brighton the game when he came on.

Can’t stand him. A footballer who can’t play football.

Pile of garbage? Well... yes you are. But why are you stating the obvious in Palhinha thread ?

Brighton created absolutely nothing meaningful in the time he was on. Even their goal situation was lapse of concentration from Danso. Not to mention that in this period we were playing with 10 men cause Xavi could not even run... but sure... Palhinha fault. Garbage take from garbage poster.

Palhinha helped us to an important win. We did not look like scoring generally.
And without win today, our relegation would have been more or less confirmed.

A defensive midfielder scoring the odd goal doesn't make him a good player. He's not very good at his actual job. We play him in the middle with Bentancur again and it'll be fucking awful

First of all - goals win you games. Passing nicely can get you draw at best. He scored today and rescued draw from first game with Wolves. That is 4 points from his goals.

Second thing - who and where has insisted to pair him with Benta? I have not noticed anyone suggesting that.
I was also one who in start of the season hated that duo. It is either we play one or the other. Or we move Benta higher upfield (in light of Xavi season-ender from today).

All that being said - in such a scrappy situation we are in - we need players who are willing to fight their asses off.
Palhinha is one of such players. Thats it.

People want him to start. Without Benta we can't play, so put 2+2 together.

I'm glad you love your guy. Still shit.

I'm glad you love not winning games and earning points.
You have picked the right club for that, at least :D .

I can put 2+2 together, but you don't seem to be passing reading lessons.
Like for example reading my previous post? About potentially playing Benta higher and not have Benta-Palhinha CM duo?

I heard on one of the Spurs podcasts that he trains the hardest of all the players at the club, think guys like this are always good to have around

Which are you more gutted about

Spurs winning, so you can’t go on the constant moan all week, or
Palhinha scoring the winner, and gaining us valuable points and not for the first time this season, because he just highlights the clownshoe opinions you have

More of the same- posters in here just really suck at understanding football. "Palhinha is shit", etc. They embarrass themselves each week it seems.

Thank you for the goal today JP.
