Yeh him, Maddison, Kulu and Odobert won't be going anywhere now.

We will cash in on Vicario, Romero, VDV, Udogie, Spence, Porro, Bentancur, Gallagher, Bissouma, Kudus,Sarr and Richie.

There will be a surprise sale as well though now because the cunts up top are probably pissed off they can't realistically sell Xavi now. Whether that's Bergvall, Gray or Vuskovic (I hope out of that it's Gray) I dont know.

Moment of truth for the new regime. They maybe can get away with its Levy and his hires Lange and co but come summer it’s a new page.

They can either keep the better parts of the squad and build under De Zerbi and come back and make sure this never happens again or they can follow the old playbook and go austerity and lose money being penny wise pound foolish getting stuck long term down in the Championship or getting relegated soon as we come back up.

If they are smart they will sell the Romero and VDV’s but then look to keep what De Zerbi wants and strengthen weak areas and that will mean putting £100m or so in on top of the £100m they reportedly put in. It’s their call.

We've had what, four ACL tears this year? Just unbelievably bad luck.

Feel awful for Xavi for missing the WC. He may not have been great this year, but he's been one of the few trying every match.

Also puts the club in a shit position because he's out most if not all of next season, and if we go down, it'll be impossible to shift his wages, even with the relegation reduction.

It's not bad luck it's incompetence.

It's actually heartbreaking. Gutted for him.
I think he does care and while he hasn't hit great form yet, he wasn't helped by often his statue like teammates and being dropped after good performances. He is a talent for sure no doubt about that. I have no clue why he didn't become a mainstay in our team after his superb sub appearance against Brighton earlier under Frank. That goal he scored like Sonny, ran all that way, kept his composure. The banger against Brighton last week. He is a very good player. Gutted for him, and selfishly for us as we can't watch him or reap the benefits of his play.

Also what in hell is wrong with our medical department?! When someone goes down after inoccuous thing like that, then they are seriously writhing in proper agony (not fake like a scum player) the last thing you do is get them to see if they can run it off. It's utter madness and could have made it worse. His career could be in the balance because of their stupidity. It's so disheartening, every facet of our club seems to have plonkers in charge. They did similar with Dragusin iirc and possibly Kulu too.

Gutted for the player.

I don't think it's realistic to blame the medical department for the injuries. Possibly in relation to the recovery periods but the injuries themselves, I don't think that is quite right.

It's sheer bad luck on our part. The kind you really find hard to bear.

We are not selling Kudus either, he is one of the injury-stays.

And Vuskovic (objectively correctly) will have nothing to do with Championship side.

Gallagher will also stay - joined 4 monts ago, have not done well and is on high salary. Sarr will stay too - still fairly young and we would not get too much for him.

But Solanke is quite a marketable asset, so to balance out some of the "stayers" you can add him to "leavers". Together with Dragusin - he hopefully have suitors in Italy.

Yeah that’s not right. Something is up at the club. It must be unprecedented for a club for that many in such a short period.
Yes and no I guess.

It is obviously not normal to have this amount of ACL tears in this short amount of time. But I cannot really think of any consistent theme for our ACL tears other than poor squad planning and possibly some sort of incompetence within the physio/medical side. Odobert and Dragusin happened at home, Xavi away at Wolves and Madders in Korea during pre-season. And all of them were non contact injuries if my memory is correct.

I apologise for my comment lastnight. I'd a lot of beers and it was an unnecessary post.It was correctly removed by the Admin and I can only apologise now.

Its just a madness having another ACL. Its very hard to believe that there isn't a higher power working against us and I really don't know what we've all done to deserve this.

So, with Xavi now out for the rest of the season, who does De Zerbi put his faith in for that creative midfield role?

Bergvall? Not a natural 10, has an engine but not the creativity needed

Same for Gallagher.

RKM? Not on your nelly

Madders not ready

So, do we put in someone from the reserves/youth team?

Gallagher best option

But it makes the Jan window look even worse cos it's a square peg in a round hole
