Im not against the theory but do you also think the epl has colluded in ipswich being above Millwall? Or what about Sheffield Wednesday getting smashed when the likes of chelsea do whatever they want.

Is it all linked by the football illuminati

Also did you notice how Middlesbrough’s form absolutely fell off a cliff ; when automatic promotion was all but guaranteed.

Not to mention what’s happened to oil prices recently.

Coincidence; possibly.

As the old saying goes .

Every single team could make a similar montage. Every team complains about referees, they are universally shit and it’s made even more obvious by the use of VAR.

We are 18th because we are a bad team, no other reason. Our matches are full of refereeing gaffes just like everyone else but they are also full of us playing horrendous football.
I think we've been unluckier than average this season with the officiating. Zero pens, most yellow cards per-foul in the division, a few absolute honking decisions that have really hurt us at key moments, anti-Romero bias (partly his fault admittedly). I don't believe there's a conspiracy or anything, but it's certainly possible for individual teams to have 'bad luck' years with officiating even if it tends to even out in the long run.

I do agree that this is far from the main reason we're in this mess, but I think it's one of many contributing factors.

People who say that we are 18th cause we are shit are so jarring as if multiple things can't be true at the same time

Agreed.

I reckon having the most notorious red-card magnet in the division as our captain and representative on the pitch has also not helped tbh.

Referees are human beings and they're bound to have unconscious biases against certain players. Romero's (deservedly) had a reputation for years now and commentators like Neville get a hard-on every time he breathes on someone.

Not hard to imagine why refs might not be predisposed to give decisions our way when the one guy that's actually allowed to speak to them on the pitch is someone they've collectively decided is a wrong 'un and barely speaks English. If our captain this season had Maddison's personality you probably see a few more decisions go our way and refs act softer towards us I reckon.

I'm talking very fine margins here, but this is the kind of shit the adds up over the course of a season, along with our injuries, braindead signings, wrong managerial choices, to create the absolute clusterfuck of a situation we're in.

I think it's obvious that refs have an unconscious bias against us, been going on for years IMO, they're human being and humans are swayed by narratives and bias.

People will always turn a blind eye to these things because they don't want to deal with the uncomfortable truth.

On the flip side I keep making a point aboit the fact that we need to help ourselves but don't do a very good job at it, we don't have anyone from the club calling it out nor do we have anyone on the pitch to referee the match for us.

Yeah it's a lack of street smarts on our part. There's a reason the most successful teams tend to play the game: put loads of pressure on refs, call them out and take some fines, while also schmoozing them a bit on a personal level when need be.

I actually admired Ange's approach to it on a human level, acting like he was above it, but it actively hurt us on the pitch. After we were the beneficiaries of that Diaz offside fuck-up, we noticeably got less decisions our way that season and Liverpool got the rub of the green cos they whined so much. Then Frank was no better - can't really recall him ever calling out any bad decisions.

If we go down we'll be 'the big club' of the Championship and I won't be at all surprised if we suddenly find more decisions are going our way. Especially if De Zerbi starts chirping (which I think he would).

This one is actually better

I think it's more about widespread dislike for Spurs.
Refs are allocated to games and not to others based on what team they support.
IE, an arse fan can't referee a spurs match.
Except dislike for us reaches far further.
Every fanbase in the country wants us down and now the refe are trying to make sure it actually happens.
You can't tell me the non-red against wolves and the non-penalty for Everton against West Ham weren't 100% deliberate. Why? What reason could there be for it?
