Just a reference point to how competitive the league now is below 5th. The AVB/Sherwood season when the team basically collapsed mentally similar to this season we were never really in danger of going down as everyone 5-6th and below was wank. That situation meant ENIC could always ride it out being incompetent. The league now is a totally different animal, all professional set ups top to bottom. Big money for all, elite managers at mid table or even lower table teams.

We can never coast again, ever! Every club now will have a competitive squad and a half decent manager and scouting system. I think someone in the Spanish league said the premier league was becoming the NBA of football, they can see it as well.

Forest could be right in the shit

Chelsea away
Newcastle
Man u away
Bournemouth away

Really could lose all 4 of those, Newcastle the easiest of that bunch but that comes 3 days after they will have worked their ass off to get to a European final

Still permutations.

City need to get a result tomorrow, followed by that lot beating West Ham.

If both happen, Leeds at home, witn a capacity (or near to) stadium, and a win, might just be enough.

Long way to go. Too many fcukimg ifs and buts as yet.

Our team plays very well under DZ. It's been a very quick turnaround.

If this continues, we'll stay up barring exceptions.
He spotted the issue with our passing and has focused on that,

Got them to be calm and careful on the ball and take care of it and then added more pace and intensity to our play this game.

And insists on responsibility and structure at the back.

Well-rounded, dynamic approach that will serve us well.

Stoked to have him.

Yeah absolutely. We're a much better team defensively simply by virtue of keeping the ball. Far less chaos and desperate defending when you're able to just comfortably knock the ball about.

I honestly can't remember the last time we controlled a game in possession so well for 90 minutes against a decent team. Sounds absurd but might actually be under Poch: Jose and Conte never used possession to control games, while Ange's frantic approach meant most games were far more up-and-down, even when we were good under him.

De Zerbi's also completely proven that having non-technical players in midfield doesn't mean playing possession football is impossible. Frank was bypassing the midfield by choice and today, the dreaded Bentancur/Palhinha partnership had no issue keeping the ball for minutes at a time. Because of the coaching and mentality under Frank that simply wasn't possible, even with Romero on the pitch to help them out in possession.

Villa were admittedly shite, but the coaching and difference in style and play is such a huge upgrade, and he's doing it with a ravaged squad too. Great manager.

Massive performance tonight. Outfought villa all over the pitch. Every player battling and winning their duels. Incredible! Huge help by villa having one eye on Thursday night but we took our chance! Massive
