Levy didn't take over the everyday running of the club till October 01. It was David Buchler running things in those early ENIC months, and it was him who was in charge for Graham being sacked, Hoddle hired, Campbell walking away, Sheringham and Poyet signing. Which is probably a large part of why he was replaced with Levy!

Do you mean this bean counter?

:gallashmm:

By the way;

Levy was still the MD from February 2001.

Collecott has been there since day 1, guarding the piggy bank (CFO and/or COO), and still remains.

No one seems to acknowledge him in any criticism of the finances or transfers, even though he's a Tavistock guy

It’s amazing what I learn on here . And I take your point.

FWIW: I never realised he’s a CBE ; for services to “ what “ exactly.

I so wish we guarantee safety by this time next week.

I want the last match at home to be hell-on-earth for the board. I hope 60k+ fans turn it to a live in-stadium demonstration demanding these clowns to sell and disappear from our lives.

Thank You ; I genuinely did not know that .

Good for him , I guess .

PS I was on a boat ( and largely out of touch ) at the time .

There is a lot to criticise Levy for, especially the shambolic football strategy (or lack thereof) since the stadium opened. But he did take his stewardship of the club seriously.

The Lewis children and the other morons in charge have no idea how to run a club. The way they sacked Levy showed their negligence and arrogance. We all agree that new leadership was needed but abruptly sacking someone with all that experience and decision making power did terrible damage to the club. It should have been a managed exit with a proper transition period.

It’s quite clear that the buffoons underneath Levy have no football knowledge and have never had to make decisions before, they spent the first half of the season away with the fairies pretending nothing was wrong and the second half of the season in a state of complete decision paralysis. That they dredged up a manager like Tudor to save the season after the half-interested Paratici suggested him randomly 3 months before he was hired, says it all.

Even if we stay up there needs to be a huge change in personnel at the top of the club. None of them know what they are doing and they’ll destroy us before long if we let them stay in place.

Right now Hearts partly owned by Brighton owner Tony Bloom about to win the league if results stay as is . Anyone remember how Rangers did under levy and ENIC ?
Oh shit same as every other club they have owned you say, I guess facts are facts

If he “never in a million years” didn’t believe we would get relegated then right there is hubris personified.

The downward spiral commenced under his regime and collapsed from around December 2023, he didn’t do fuck all to correct the slide, fumbling around like a child with a blindfold on.

That he spent 25 years removing any ounce of credibility from our club by hoping to avoid a Leeds to end up doing a Leeds is somewhat ironic.

We went into last Summer without any cash flow and could not afford to actually improve the squad. The ownership used him as the patsy and binned him as soon as the window shut. And then all that “stress” purchase nonsense was yet more lies, the money has gone despite the record revenue and Daniel has hardly been honest about why we find ourselves in this horrible mess.
