I'd laugh my way through every bit of abuse received at their hands, knowing that me and mine were set for life.

The irony is that failing at Chelsea, more often than not, has virtually zero impact on your job prospects, if you've already shown you are capable elsewhere.

Alonso is a great coach and he must have got some assurances of control to go there.

Chances are it’s easier to turn chelase around. Liverpool needs to replace Allison and van dyke. Board won’t spend that kinda money after dropping 500 million last season.

Money talks and they are a big club, even if they are cnuts.

Guardiola appears likely to stay for at least one more season, that lot(Champions elect) will buy again and United will have the lure of CL.

I see decent players at filth club and it might translate to keeping their better players but experienced players of quality won't be picking them ahead of the 7 or 8 other big clubs who will have CL football to entice their signatures.
 
Alonso must be out of his tree going there. He probably won't last the season after their players decide they don't like him. Not sure he can afford another failure at a high profile club if he wants to keep being considered for those type of roles. Should have waited for Liverpool who would have given him time at least.
