Just watched a YT clip of Melia. OK they only show the good bits but the point is that he is unarguably miles faster, more skilful and a far better finisher than Richi or Dom. You watch the plays and you ask yourself each time, could Richi or Dom have done that? No way on God's earth.

Don't forget the Irish League is equivalent to L1/L2 in England - and St Pats is a top Irish side with good Irish League players to support him with passes etc - so Melia will look good versus that opposition.

He's played a few times for Spurs u21's and looked decent but maybe not as dominant as Lankshear when our U21's were all conquering 2 years ago with Lankshear being PL2 player of the year (at a similar age to Melia is today). Lankshear (now improved since playing in u21's particularly in hold up play) looking a highly valued Championship player (a level above that Melia has played at yet) with Oxford this season.

Of course Lankshear just 21 and Melia shortly to become 19, so 2 years different.

PL is a tougher league than either have played in yet, so if Melia can transfer his speed (over PL level defenders) and finishing ability from Irish League to PL, that will be great but I suspect that might be say 2 years away.

It's laughable really to compare Richi and Dom to a YT video of this kid playing in Ireland...

Imagine how lethal the two of them would look in that Leage ffs!

You've put a lot more time and effort into your response than that post deserved.

Then you need to watch more than YT clips before making such bold and sweeping judgements.
Because if you watch the lad, yeah he's talented but he's yet to even really prove himself at U21 level, so to suggest he's better that senior internationals is just stupid at this stage.

To put it simply, he's a potentially decent player but everything you said is just ignorant bollocks.
Sorry.

You say that, but he's not played against players of that level before. You put Dom or Richi in tbe league of Irelanf and they'd score 60 a season, same as u21's.
