I quite like a back four of:
VDV - Senesi - Vuskovic - Porro

He is one of the best 6's out there with stats that are good from a Defensive and attacking sense.

He’s going to Sporting
Likely means he’s trying to extend his career or wind it down and spend more time with the family.
To be fair, after reading it again, it wasn't really a rant, so apologies for labelling it that.I'm just concerned that our "Recruitment team" will just label Senesi as a centre back and if we miss out on Van Hecke or any other potential RCB targets to replace Romero, that we'll do the lazy spurs thing and just declare Senesi as our Romero replacement.
Sorry if my rant ended up aimed at you. I found myself replying to you and then went into my own concerns.
A lot of these stats don't take into account the team they are playing in, which might put a player into the position to do more of that sort of thing. Not saying he's not good at it, just that stats are only half the picture, at best.Senesi has 3rd most interceptions in the league behind Garner and Caceido.
His progressive passing is the best in the league.
He's a better CB than VDV. Senesi will start for us. Where that leaves VDV I don't know.
I think, from what I’ve seen he likes possession but a lot faster play that what Romero offers. You're gonna be in for a shock when you realise that's literally how De Zerbi wants his players to play.

If he had to I doubt he’d want to stay.
Well because its agent non sense who offer their rather mediocore players around and internet makes silly stories out of it.I reckon we have been reported to wanting about 27 midfielder players so far. Ca t say I’m too impressed with some of the ones mentioned, mostly players valued about£25-£40 million.
Sadly using the ante does not involve paying somebody £3-4 hundred thousand a year. Would love him though. To be fair, after reading it again, it wasn't really a rant, so apologies for labelling it that.
I don't share your concerns though tbh. Danso has proven to be an able RCB, whilst Vuskovic has excelled in Germany, much as VDV did before we bought him. Senesi provides options without a drop in quality, so it's astute business from my perspective. He may well play on the right, but if VDV is injured, moved to LB, or just rested, we have an option for his position who has shown he's more than capable for the role.
We've been crying out for ages for players that aren't just backup, but will challenge for the starting role. If nothing else, it should keep VDV on his toes knowing that there's someone vying for his position.
VDV, Senesi, Danso and Vuskovic as our main 4 CB's, with Phillips and Dorrington as understudies is a very strong department in my view. That's on the assumption that Romero is leaving, which is by no means a given. We even have gentle Ben as a backup if required. With the addition of Robertson, that then means we have both Porro (if he stays) and Spence for RB, with Udogie and Robertson as LB. It's a strong defensive unit and the work is essentially done before the window has opened. The only caveat to that is the goalkeeping position.
That leaves us to concentrate on upgrading the frontline. Muani should be gone, Richarlison needs improving on and RW desperately needs sorting.
My personal priority would be Osimhen. I know he's on silly wages in Turkey, but we've shown with Simons and Gallagher that we're prepared to up the ante on wages, so give him a nice signing on fee then pay him a wage more in line with the top earners in the squad. We can make it work that way if the will is there. Getting a striker like him would REALLY get the fans onside, and would bump our goals for column significantly. That, for me, would be a solid investment.
I think, from what I’ve seen he likes possession but a lot faster play that what Romero offers.
And yet Senesi has been integral in the Bournemouth side that, for the last 2 seasons, has been taking major scalps and only just missed out on CL.When Bournemouth bought Dean Huijsen he was the prefered partner to Illia Zabarnyi
