If Luis Van Gaal hadn't turned Levy down, he'd have hired him instead of Poch.
If's buts and maybe's mean nothing in both directions.

Correct.
If Luis Van Gaal hadn't turned Levy down, he'd have hired him instead of Poch.
Kane was a once in a lifetime fluke from the academy.
Eriksen was the fallback plan when Willian went to Chelsea.
Dele was a £5m punt.
Rose and Walker were punts.
It just goes on and on.
There was no master plan there to build a team that could win a title..
We just happened to have, for about 2 years, a coach with about 11 players who were all perfectly in sync.

I was actually in favour of sacking Poch as he'd clearly lost the will to be here. But I suspect it was driven at least in part by Levy having a hard on for Mourinho for years.
He then assumes Mourinho can win trophies with Joe Rodon and Matt Doherty. Then sacks him before a cup final anyway.

The man was a tit.

Yet you don't consider Poch without Kane, and certainly Dele, would have very likely been a relatively hum drum appointment.

Nor do you consider the timeline than Louis Van Gaal would have been a stonking success. Let's look at just a few of the academy debuts he gave out at Man Utd:
  • Fosu Mensah
  • Rashford
  • Pereria
  • Michael Keane
  • Lingard

The idea that the club just "fluked" its way to Champions League qualification and the best stadium and training environment (the bedrock of any big club) is embarrasingly disingenuous.

It's like saying Liverpool fluked a decade of success by convincing Barcelona to pay the £140m that funded Allison and van Dijk

Measures of club revenue typically divide into three categories, broadcasting, matchday, and commercial.

All three ultimately connect to success on the pitch. The idea that ENIC can endlessly soak profits out of a losing team is (thankfully!) totally untrue.

Being this bad at a moment when big commercial deals are up for renewal is a great inconvenience for ENIC, and the marketplace is really reflecting the lack of any credibility this ownership has. Companies do not have confidence that their brands will be associated with star footballers and happy fans when they sign up with ENIC.

Levy never got a stadium naming rights deal . Try saying you want a reduction in what you pay , when you actually pay nothing and have told us to jog on years ago .

He did - it has been explained that having the stadium named as it is holds significant value for commercial reasons, as it puts the club on centre stage globally for all the non-footballing events

You believe that if you want to , forgive me if i don’t believe it for a second . I suppose you thought he was telling the truth when he said the stadium would see us financially compete with the elite clubs.

Don’t forget with Dele it was Pleat who had to plead with Levy to spend the £5 million on him. He wasn’t going to do it otherwise.

You're so naive it's actually rather cute.🫠

Have you ever wondered why no other big club has decided on this master plan. Or why he specifically employed some bod who's one job was to secure a naming rights deal....

Honestly. Your devotion to defending this man in each and every circumstance comes across as unhealthy. I've never seen anything like it.

Utterly under the cosh in this window.

I think the 2 at the helm are incompetent and incapable. Simply from the evidence.

Never has it been so important for the assertion to be proven wrong but there are some serious headwinds and I'm more unsure than I am hopeful.

This isn't about the intent or money, or even the ambition, but the confidence in the key men to deliver.
