Well we know he's a fucking awful manager of a club with our expectations. And tbh I think you're right and with time he'll be proven to be a fraud.
However you still gotta reapect the job he did at Brentford - getting a club with their resources promoted and made em a PL staple. Maybe a collective effort but impressive nonetheless. Until he shits the bed in his next job there's still a part of me that wonders if he'd do OK at a club that matches his (lack of) ambition.
I think it's a combination of this and what @ Postbox has written.
We were completely the wrong job for Frank despite what seemed the right fit, but his total lack of gravitas and football philosophy was startling.
I do believe part of the issue was impostor syndrome, allied to players who seemed to show scant regard, and that Frank appeared to have no authority.
Had he stayed at the helm any longer than he amazingly did, I don't think there is much doubt the damage would have been irretrievable. It pretty much proved that way.
If he has recovered from the impact and if he goes to a team with far less demands and gets the time to build from a pretty low base, who knows. I suspect he will struggle to reinvent himself.
