Transfers Summer 2026 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

De Zerbi putting forth Guimares has me worried. That’s the sort of thing a delusional person does, there’s no fucking way we get Bruno G for multiple reasons. Even if he did become available (which would be for insane money), bigger clubs would easily outbid and out pull us.

We need a proper SD to get De Zerbi aligned on more realistic targets. If he thinks he can pull a Bruno G for midfield we are in for a long summer.

If all youre defining ambition by is big bucks spending, then Ill have to disagree - theres a lot more to it than just spunking a wad of cash to appease the fans

Chances are we have a limited budget, or at least limited in terms of having enough to cover the amount of business we ideally need to do

Van Hecke, Roberson, Senesi in, Romero and Dragusin out = positive net spend = VERY smart business, and keeps our budget for the rest of the team.

And when you look at the ball progression Senesi and van Hecke offer - Id say it shows ambition - the way they are building the team (if this is indicative) is very exciting

I've said it is smart business.

All I'm saying is that it doesn't amount to ambition if we continue on the path of only targeting these sorts of opportunities and it stops there.

For ambition to credibly support a title push we need to also be actively challenging for the best players and sometimes that means paying market rates for them even in exceptional circumstances.

My point is, you need both

Woolwich did this for Rice, he's been their best player this season and they won the Premier League.

I don't understand what is so controversial about that.

Do we need to take it step by step, yes. Do we need to be smart with money, yes. Can we say we are truly ambitious until we have a complete squad capable of winning titles, no.

I honestly dont know what we are doing. Senesi and van Hecke are good players, but we have van de Ven, Romero, Danso and especially Vuskovic under contract and we have so much issues further up the pitch were we need new quality players.

I would be really disappointed if Luka isnt playing for us next season or probably at any time...

Vuskovic hasn't even kicked a ball in this league and Romero is off and we'll be better off without his erratic influence.

Van Hecke is quality and we're clearly building and sorting the base of the spine first.

What's the problem exactly...I think it shows we mean business for once.

Projections:

Odo: back in Jan in time for a loan still rusty.
Kulu: little hope.
Kudus: Up to speed by Jan.
Xavi: Assume Mar/Apr

Really only leaves us Tel & a physically curious Maddison for this season (potentially) + a few months of Kudus.

Ergo need significant recruitment now.

- Akliouche is a no brainer to cover both RW & CAM.
- Ideal world; + Sav (eg) and another winger on top.

Next season mainstays: Kudus, Sav, Xavi, Akliouche + 2 & sell whoever no longer makes the grade.
Kudus: Up to speed by Jan.

WTF is this for real? Kudus out for a full year? Is this just a pessimistic prediction or have you read something I missed? I assumed he'd be back in pre-season. He only put off surgery to try and make the world cup. If you're projection is right then this is another Kulusevski scenario.

I hope you've just made that up. Otherwise wow and I'm lost for words

Who would wharton possibly play next to in a 2 man midfield? Gallagher at 10 would help short term.

Incredible in possession but in bigger games against tougher opposition?

As much as Im not interested in signing him, Palhinha makes a lot of sense in that context

The whole catch for me is the specificity of Wharton, and the set up at Palace around him. Quite obviously he cant really be relied on defensively, or to cover large spaces, which immediately means he needs support (either personal minder or low block for example), which immediately means changing the team around to accomodate...

....which suddenly feels to me a lot less like he fits, and a lot more like there are questions as to how well it all works

(despite his obvious talent)

Yeah I would absolutely LOVE either Guimares or Tonali.
Both would would be first picks in our midfield without any doubt and improve that area massively.

But getting either of them from Toon is really difficult. Both have 2 years contract left at this point.
Even more difficult after they sold Gordon to Barcelona for 80 mil...

We'd have to pay ~85-100 mil for either of them by the looks of it.

Shame we need to move Romero on. He fits RDZ so much better than Mickey.

In a world where it’s almost impossible to find a 6 who can shield the back 4 and also be DLP, we could do a lot worse than a back 3 of Van Hecke, Romero, Senesi. All 3 so comfortable on the ball and with an eye for a pass would be a lot of fun.

Hilarious how Krrish always seems to get the transfer news right after it’s publicly reported

Are you saying he's not a legit ITK source?! He does cute AI pictures and everything!

Ah i just checked the source. @Allthings__THFC. Another account I've blocked so must be notorious for being unreliable.

It is a rubbish source and I'd encourage others to block that account just so we can dilute the rubbish rumours on here. Nice to stick to reality and only discuss possible targets.

Its not Allthings__THFC, its them retweeting @szyexcl who seems like they might have something about them

I am still not very sure I did.

Cause we are on 4th of June and seems that we have identified 3 players that are both - technically good and fitting + either contract expired or are going into last year.

So what I tried to say that until the first criteria is met, I'm loving it. And I do find it ambitious as well.
So also after your reply I fail to see then what you meant originally.

That's fine, I didn't say its not a good start. I think we are conflating arguments. Please see my latest post for clarity on what I mean.

Primarily I'm coming from a position of we've made this sort of signing before (madison) which was excellent and smart. But its all meaningless and no different from Daniel levys tenure if it stops there. The bar needs to be higher across the board.

It is a tough one on Kinsky, Id be happy to give him the shirt and see how he does

However, Vicario is clearly going - so we do need somone in

Raises questions on who, another young GK to compete? Or a Fraser Forster type benchwarmer?
I'd like to see us bring in an experienced HG keeper who can start but wouldn't mind being a backup. That way we have insurance this season if Kinsky doesn't work out, and if he does, then the vet can be a long term, reliable backup and mentor.

Well, thats wages - not capex, so accounting wise it works

In reality, of course, theyre still going to be expensive deals - although we have promised to raise the wage bill so presumably its bugeted for

I like Odobert, I like him as a Kudus back up, I think he was starting to get somewhere about the time he got injured

But youre right, reality bites - we should really get someone for that side
It doesn't make much difference to the club's finances though. We will likely have to pay Robbo an up-front signing-on free instead of the transfer fee. That's the point I'm making. No economic difference between the two - as many posts on this thread imply there is. And given transfer fees are often staggered, the timing of the payments may not be that different either - i.e. some up-front and then some through wages vs some up-front and some later
