He's very solid at CB, good header, decent technique and less error prone/absent (or lazy) than JV. Got decent enough pace and can back up as a RB (he plays there for our NT). Got a cannon ball of a shot in him and good crossing abilities (but that's probably not relevant when he plays as CB).

I reckon they only have economical claims. Doubt Atletico would want to deal with them if they start acting up as well. It might not be a coincidence that "Alderweireld to Saints"-rumours have dried up as they reported on the legal stuff.

That's a good shout. A scum mate of mine reckoned he bossed it in midfield against them. He was actually miffed Woolwich weren't going for him.
Can't help but think if we were looking at him for our CDM we would have rather gone after an actual specialised CDM. HE and Jan will form the spine of our defense next season, no doubt Dier will see plenty of game time as well, he's a versatile young lad after all. The rest of them will probably be shipped out barring Fazio possibly and Wimmer ofc
