Apparently, Money still talks . . .

Obvious as fuck, why stay at Villa?

PLEASE COME AND BUY ADE - AT LEAST

No. If that were true Kane would be off to United. We develop players who then want to leave. We didn't try to sell Carrick, Berbatov, Modric, Bale etc they all wanted to go. Barca et al are the pinnacle of the game, of course no one wants to leave those clubs if they have a chance of playing, whereas players who are the first name on our team sheet still want better.

At our level at the moment we can't attract the obviously top calibre players because they want Champions League football. We are left with average players, mercenaries or young potential to sign, of which the third would seem the most likely - with our current staff - to help elevate us into the arena where we can attract the big names.

Have some faith man, maybe take a day off from being so overly negative. You never know you might like it.
We have no faith in slaphead
We "buy to sell" ,
Kane will be gone in 2 years if he maintains his form . We can not attract big names
on a couple of shekels .

On moses, he averages about 4 successful takes ons a game. More than double our best am

But what happens once he takes those players on?

I keep saying this and will continue to do so; statistics aren't relevant enough in football to be used as a barometer to signing someone or berating them. An example is this; Trippier made more mistakes than any other player ythat led to goalscoring chances last season. What that doesn't tell us is how often he had the ball? against which teams were this mistakes made? Did he make amends?

Here is another. Other than Benteke (I think I am getting this right) Kane is responsible for more points gained for his team than any other player. Does that mean Kane is better than Aguero or Costa? Not really. I don't think anyway.....or does it? Fuck! It might do.

It does make Kane more important to us than aguero or Costa are to city or Chelsea respectively.

Here are the stats for Moses last year compared to Spurs attacking midfielders.

I think he is at a similar level to Townsend but below the others.

The main area for improvement is to get Lamela scoring more goals and for Eriksen to create more assists.
Messi would look shite if he were relying on passes from Phil fucking Bardsley and crossing for Jonathon bastard Walters.

We buy and sell - just like any other club. I can't quite see where the problem lies in making money of players we don't want anymore, but like I said our best players who have left have pushed the matter themselves rather than been put front and centre of the Spurs shop window.

If you seriously believe that the aim of those running our club is to stagnate and reap profit of transfers then your logic is flawed. Don't get me wrong I'm not an unequivocal Levy lover but there's a lot more money to be made in the CL, through ad revenue, sponsorship, the competition itself and the top-player business etc etc. Also, we wouldn't be building a state of the art new stadium unless we were looking to progress.

If you want us to sign expensive players then at the moment we'd be signing more Adebayor types - of course financial gain plays a part in players decisions but the creme de la creme want to play in the CL, I'd rather have cheaper players with a desire to improve both themselves and the club than a mercenary who's only here for the shekels.

Behind Chadli we have Eriksen and Pritchard that can play as one of the front 3. Why sign someone else that isnt better than Chadli?

Pritchard is untested and people have suddenly jumped to the massive conclusion that all our youth product are going to be the equivalent of Kane in their respective positions.

Eriksen is not back up to Chadli, nor is he behind Chadli on the field. I have no idea what you are taking about there.
Why sign another left sided AM? So Eriksen doesnt have to play on the left side. Its called squad cover so when Chadlis form dips or he gets injured he has another player breathing his neck, like Davis did to Rose, pushing him to his best ever form.

Can't see us selling Soldado and Ade. If we do then I agree we need two strikers and a defensive mid, but that will be a big ask and dont be surprised if we dont manage it. I'd prefer to have a go with Kane plus one rather than sign someone shit that we have stuck on the books.

We either sell them or use them. Not sure anyone wants to sign someone shit.

I rate Lamela, doubt we will find anyone better
Berahino, Saleh, Mane´, Lavezzi, Moses, Miralles.........................

Of course it is. Which goes to show were being run as a feeder club. Buy young up and coming starlets with potential re-sale value. It`s all about profit and has fuck all today with trophies. I`m so pleased your finally starting to wake up.

I really don't like to say things like this. But why not just fuck off and support Man City. You'd never be disappointed.
Contrary to public opinion, not much money is made from owning a football club. If the money made was all siphoned off into the pockets of the Levy and Lewis, then you'd soon know about it.
We wouldn't have a new training ground and we wouldn't be building a new stadium. We also would not have players like Lloris, Eriksen, Vertonghen or Alderweireld.
Spurs have not won the league in my lifetime. Since I have been going we have only finished in the top 4 8 times.
That's 8 times since my first game in 1969.
6 of those times was when it did not matter, and was seen as fuck all really.
We were a big club once. When we had the capacity. It was us and Woolwich who commanded the biggest average attendances in London.
Then Woolwich went and built a new stadium and Chavs got a Russian crook.
We are in a 36k capacity stadium mate. We have not got an owner that rules an oil rich country and can throw money into the club by sponsorship and advertising of his countries airline and other state owned businesses. We have to look hard to get our deals, and we do get them on merit. Not a shirt sponsorship deal that in 2007 was £1.5 m and when the UAE take over 7 x that , after achieving nothing of any merit to command that.
The last 10 years is the most consistent we have ever been in the league. The last 6 the best ever in my time. This is all post Taylor report, when we have smaller capacity. We have the 11th biggest capacity mate. On par with Spam. Do their owners siphon off the money? Why do we do better than them then, and Newcastle, Villa, Sunderland, Everton and, over the last 6yrs, Liverpool - we have qualified for the CL twice in 6 years they have once. They all have bigger capacities than us.
At no other time in my Spurs years have we been in the top 6 so consistently, 2 x outside it in 10 yrs.
What other club outside the current top 4, playing in EL has done what we have done?
Of course I want us to do better, but in the current climate we have to be fucking realistic and not so fickle.

There are a few solutions. We could reduce ticket prices and not be able to attract better quality players over the whole squad and be Spam.
We could double ticket prices, which would bring us up to Woolwich's level of match day revenue, and be the 3rd highest in the league and compete.
Build a new stadium which would double it.
Get taken over by Qatar Sports Investment and be the London PSG.

Number 4 may happen when we have a SOA training facility used by the leading National and Domestic football teams of the world, coupled with a SOA stadium capable of hosting major events.

So, hold tight Mr Thomas. We then could call it the Qatar Airways Arena and our shirt sponsors can be Al Jazeera.
We can then buy who the fuck we want, when we want and pay them whatever they want.

Yet a host of teams feel they do matter enough to use them for recruiting players and preparing tactics. Not as the be-all and end-all, but as the extra-info to let scouts/coaches focus on priorities faster by giving them the info they wanted.

A good example is that teams now build the lists through data and video, and only send the scouts to find out the stuff they can't tell without being in person (ie personality, habits, off-pitch behaviour). It lets your scouts make better use of their time.
