I know they've done a great job financially, but there have been times a bit of extra investment could have really pushed us on. We've never strengthened in January when we've been in good positions. The only January we have was the 2 points from 8 games season.Has Levy really shafted us this season ? We brought in a rb to challenge Walker, we brought in two CB's and shifted some deadwood plus i except us to sign one or two attacking players before the end of august. I cant understand people saying we should buy the players that go to the money clubs, how would we compete with their offers ? Even if we break the bank, disrupt our wage structure and offer silly money that would just be matched by the rich boys and they offer top european football ...
Our only hope is trying to build a team in stead of assembling individuals, i dont get frustrated by that and it surprises me that other people do. This is Tottenham you support, a wealthy club with a long tradition but not a club that can outspend the richest teams on the planet. We build on our youth, we try to find promising players and i hope Poch has a game plan to make them all gel.

100 % agreed, i was just wondering what some people expect from our board and our club, ambition is good but i really do wonder what it would take to convince some people.I know they've done a great job financially, but there have been times a bit of extra investment could have really pushed us on. I love seeing Woolwich right at the bottom of the table, even if it is only week 1 and we're 17th![]()

Is it Levy's fault that the window is structured in such a ludicrous way and doesn't close before the season starts?I'm a Levy and ENIC fan, but I would disagree slightly with this statement. Whilst we still have until 1st September to bring players in, the season has started. Points have been lost. And we're already on the training pitch preparing for the next game.
I honestly don't know what the answer is if Kane gets injured. Chadli as our striker? No thanks.
If Bobby and Ade go, I cannot see how we can go a season without replacing both of them.
I don't think I've ever seen a team go through a season with 2 strikers (LET ALONE 1!), regardless of the formation they play.

The last striker we bought turned out to be shite! It does seem our transfers are so much longer and more drawn out than other clubs though.100 % agreed, i was just wondering what some people expect from our board and our club, ambition is good but i really do wonder what it would take to convince some people.
There have been many mistakes made and the fact that we never buy strikers, since Berba broke our hearts, the beautiful but treacherous slut. is the biggest one
I know it's not Levy's fault, but he has a calendar - he knows when the season starts. For me, prioritising signing 3 defenders before any strikers has left us light in the most important area of the pitch. Is it Levy's fault that the window is structured in such a ludicrous way and doesn't close before the season starts?
If it's so easy to get all your key business done before the season kick off then why is De Gea still at Utd? It's just not that simple to say that Levy should have signed the striker we want already.
He can and will be judged when the window closes.
Also your reply starts off talking about starting the first few games light up front but then ends with a statement suggesting we're having to spend the whole season with only Kane which is how a lot of people are reacting.
Say for instance the reason we haven't signed Berahino yet is because he's trying to get Benzema. Hypothetical of course but would you prefer he dropped the ambition and just bought Berahino early or would you prefer he exhausted all possibility of getting Benzema first?
Best sentence I've ever seen on this forum. Is there any way I can buy you to live with me?its the same every season we dont spend any money and then finished in 5th behind the teams that spend all the money and get players like hazard levy just keeps all the money i spent on my shirt with bale and taxi 4 maicon onthe back and doesnt buy players like hazard

Fucking hell mate, Levy isn't the club. He said the club had a losing mentality, now whether you believe that or not, that's what he said. Some of you blokes are so far up Levy's arse you have to twist what other people say to suit your ridiculous agenda.
And it's fucking "loser" he's not firing arrows, jesus.

Going slightly off thread but I once had a girlfriend from Stevenage who looked great but had a fanny like a wizard's sleeve!
Now that's what I would call "looser"!

I'm pretty sure we have bought a few strikers since Berba: Defoe, Keane, Crouch, Pav, Bent, Ade, Saha, Soldado..100 % agreed, i was just wondering what some people expect from our board and our club, ambition is good but i really do wonder what it would take to convince some people.

I presume you would agree that starting the season with one striker is not a good idea? You don't think Levy bears blame for that. I assume you blame Pochettino then for failing to integrate Soldado and Adebayor until replacements are brought in?Is it Levy's fault that the window is structured in such a ludicrous way and doesn't close before the season starts?

See my most recent post regarding WBA and Berahino. We don't hold all the cards and it's not a matter of us just turning up with a bid and WBA bending over.I know it's not Levy's fault, but he has a calendar - he knows when the season starts. For me, prioritising signing 3 defenders before any strikers has left us light in the most important area of the pitch.
De Gea is a good example, but Real Madrid still have 2 keepers in the meantime to fill the void. I don't think they'd have let Casillas go if they weren't comfortable with their options irrespective of De Gea. They cannot afford to drop points based on slow transfer activity - that league normally comes down to a point or two. You need to factor in Madrid don't have a game until the 23rd August, so the have 2 weeks longer than us to make signings before their first game.
It was more speculation that, should we not sign a striker, Kane and Chadli will be our options. I'd like to think Levy won't allow this to happen, but as you said, it's not that simple and if we cannot get any strikers through no fault of our own, that's what we're left with. It's a possibility, albeit an unlikely one. In any case, having just Kane as an option for our first game, possibly two or three even, isn't ideal. It makes us predictable. Man Utd wouldn't have had to run several game plans based on who we might play - we had no option!
I understand your hypothetical scenario, and of course in the long term you'd have to say try and get your priority signing first - BUT - in this instance, I'd be saying sign both! We need 3 strikers. Berahino, or any other striker, will not solve our problems. We're still just one injury from having one option again. Again I will reiterate, I don't feel Chadli is a feasible striker option.
I know it's not as black and white as 'we should have signed a striker by now', but we've had months to organise this. We've known for a long time that Adebayor was going to move on, and Bobby too. If we weren't looking at strikers early in the year, I'd be very surprised. We're now 6 weeks into the transfer window (albeit many get confirmed before opened and go through 1st July), and we have no concrete news of even a bid for a striker. Other teams will know we're desperate as well - it doesn't necessarily work in our favour the later we get into the window.
This is pretty amazing performance art.the fans always want to get good players and the internet is always saying we r getting good players but then levy just always want to give less money and andros townsend and then chelsea buy the good players and then levy does swimming in his money like that duck from the telly
