Match 2025 v 2019.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

How many of the winners team of 2025 would make the cut of the losers team of 2019?

Good question.

Theoretical of course.

For me none. That is how good the team in 2019 were.

But if pushed hard, Johnson because he just scores goals and Romero because when he focuses there is maybe only Vertonghen who was better, in terms of defensive capability and attacking potency.

But 2019's team was magnificent amd would have cantered to the Europa and challenged this Liverpool side to the PL title.

Probably drop Winks for Bergvall
And possibly Sissoko for Bentancur - maybe that'll avoid the 'handball'
Kane switch for Solanke for the fat that he is not fit

Not comparable in any way. shape or form...if they played each other it would be about 10-0 to the 2019 team...

Nah

That 11 was miles off 2015-17 sides

One thing I would say, even though I'm sure it'll go down like a wet fart in an elevator...

I don't ever worry about Vicario doing something stupid, or randomly appearing outside of his area

If you're talking about the Liverpool final specifically, I think Johnson, Bentancur, Sarr, Bissouma, VDV and Romero would have serious shouts to start.

No doubt the 2019 side was far better, but we were also pretty poor in the league for the last 5 months of that season.

My issue with Poch is that he seriously underachieved with the players at his disposal. He simply should have won something, but didn't help his cause by not taking Europa or domestic cups seriously.

And if for that one off game, I also would take Ange in the dug out.

It's close, but really Maddison has been better this season than Eriksen was in 2019.

Any of this year's midfield 3 gets in over Winks, and have a shout to be in over Sissoko. Bench-to-bench Spence gets in the squad over Aurier or Walker-Peters.

I’ll never forget Winks bossing the midfield v Madrid - think that was a better performance personally despite nit winning a trophy.

People overestimate how good we were in '19. The rot had set in, even though we got to the final it wasn't the high point

Both sides have given us incredible memories that helped to get us onto the map of big European clubs. The way we won at Ajax to be a CL finalist was an unbelievable moment. Winning the Europa League to claim the UEFA Cup and get a chance at a Super Cup is a proper peak moment. Glad to have been around for both campaigns. Both squads will live long in our hearts and memories too. Fuck any hating.
