Chelsea or Liverpool for Title?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Liverpool without a doubt. They've actually got a proper pedigree and, like it or not, are a significant part of the fabric of English football.

Chelsea are just a bunch of lottery-winning cunts that used to be a main recruitment focal point for the National Front. cunts cunts cunts cunts

I got to about page 3 of this thread and nearly put my fist through my screen for all this talk of Liverpool "doing it the right way". This is a club that in the last two years has lost around about £100m which is more than the value of their last 3 years worth of net transfers. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when everyone talks them up as some saviour of football against the likes of City and Chelsea.

That's before we even mention that the reason they were still at the top 4-5 season ago was again because they were spending well outside their means. They were days from administration until Fenway Sports Group came in and bought the club, cancelling their debts and now they are straight back in to £100m in the last two years. Hardly the right way to run a club. But obviously they are such a massive club the same thing will happen. They will just be sold to new owners who pay off the debt after another 5 years or so and rinse and repeat. To me, they are all as bad as each other so much choice ultimately comes down to my personal experiences.

I have 3 friends who, at school and college were Liverpool fans (of course non of them have been to Liverpool let alone Anfield). They used to always give me grief about how Spurs were rubbish etc etc. Last few years they "have fallen out of love with football", stopped coming to the pub to watch any games and just never talked about football. Suddenly this year, they are the biggest football fan you can imagine, and all three of these Gary Neville wannabees are telling me exactly where Spurs are going wrong and how we need to model ourselves on what Liverpool have done. I reckon about 90% of Liverpool supporters I have met are deluded muppets, they refuse to accept any negativity about the club and only see the positives (it is almost like it is a cult), I don't think I can deal with them winning the league as I simply cannot deal with a year of these 3 fair weather fans being all smug. I luckily don't know any Chelsea fans so if I had to choose it would be them. They are just as bad for the state football as Liverpool in my opinion but I don't have to suffer their (equally) intolerable fans,

Hegarz Hegarz - The worst thing of all is you cannot have any sort of reasoned debate with them about anything. I tried to argue that having an amazing striker and quality manager can make you into a great team as these are two of the most important positions at a football club. My basis was that before the season kicked off, you would argue that we were superior to Liverpool in all areas except up top. The difference was Rodgers was a much better manager than AVB and Sherwood and has got Liverpool playing at a level more than the sum of their parts (much like Fergurson did year on year out). I'm happy to hear a counter argument to this but when they all came out and said that Lloris was nowhere near as good as Mignolet I just gave up speaking to them as they are clearly so blinkered and deluded it hurts. I will also point out that since this conversation (some time around christmas I think it was) when watching a Spurs game down the pub, one of them went "You'll be so stuffed when Lloris comes to Liverpool next year". Just beggars belief!

Eating lunch today with an out of the woodwork Pool fan, told me he hopes Everton get champions league football, and told me he likes Everton and hopes they do well, which I explained that I think it's attitudes like that between both set of fans that dilute the rivalry, and that not in a million years would I wish success on the Scum. But he still went on to tell me how even tho they want each other to do well they have the most intense derby in the league :paulinhofacepalm:

The fans fucking sit beside each other..
