Do you not think a 22 year old can be coached how to defend better if he has the basic fundamentals?
Yeah definitely. I don’t think he has the fundamentals of aspects of defending though. 1 vs 1 he’s good when someone is running at him - aerially weak, and just doesn’t block and cover gaps and clear danger. Walker was similar to be fair and had a half decent career so you might be right ;-)
is he? he makes poor decisions on the ball, his timing and general quality of pass is not good enough either.
spence is better in all aspects of the game, every single one of them.
go and check the 93rd min after the corner, anyone with half a brain is just smashing that as far as possible, not udogie tho! he wants to try and hang onto it when its dangerous....he does not have a football brain at all.
Yeah fair - he never zips a pass into an attacker early, always tap, tap, tap pass but he carries it well and is comfortable on the ball
I just think he isnt a natural defender. Needs to play further forward.
yea ill give him that, he looks ok dribbling 15 yards...cant think of anything else he has to shout about, he doesnt have natural instincts for the game, you can see that when he defends. ive seen him chasing people back and trying to go round the outside instead of getting inside and goalside....its arse about tit stuff, that should be innate stuff its common sense, yet this 'defender' has the natural instinct to go round the outside looool
we need far better, spence has shown him up playing at LB. better athlete, better use of the ball, better defender..
