Now that the BBC is piling on, I felt it was time he had his own thread.
"'Dr Tottenham' is the latest cruel jibe aimed in the direction of Spurs." - Erm, awkward...
If any journos are reading this: it's our own term to deal with the fact we know we don't deliver when we should. It's self-medication in the form of humour laced with copium.
Honestly, I don't know where we get this brain-fart-esque trait to take pity on teams like Everton, Ipswich and the like. We seem to be the team to kick-start their seasons, or get them out of a funk. Why can't anyone do that for us? I suppose City give us a bunk up once in a while, so can't complain too much. But why do we lack the killer instinct? Are our players too complacent, timid, or nice? Haven't we got any bullies? If not, why not?
I've said it before, but having a micro-manager/hands-on chairman probably isn't helping. He's basically David Brent in Dr. Evil clothing. The Ndombele tuck-shop sketch was so unbearably cringe, it's probably going to be folklore for decades to come. Damage done, but surely more of the same is happening behind the doors all the time?
Other than the obvious 'get rid', what can be done about any of this? Hoping to hear some left-field thinking, something that might actually happen, or could potentially work.
