Have not seen him for a while. I do remember him for England U21, main thing I remember was his technical skills. What is he like now, same position, how has he grown and do you think he would be a good buy for us?

I like him a lot. Very composed and always happy to take the ball under pressure. Can pick a pass. He's no long ball merchant at all. But he can thread balls through when playing advanced. Carsley will play him in front of the defence where he can take the ball off them and get the team moving, something Rice can't really do. Him with Rice ahead of him will give a nice balance as they are very different players. Him and Wharton would also give plenty of control in midfield. Something we didn't have any of against Spain.

Serious question where does that leave Bellingham? I think him and Rice are essentially the same player in an England side with its current personel. Someone's ego will suffer

For me, he wouldn't start. Nothing against him, he's a really good player. But since he moved to Woolwich, he's not as good playing in the anchor role as he was when doing that every week for West Ham. He's regressed a bit there, at least from his showing in the Euros. And as a box to box midfielder, Bellingham is obviously better.

Just back off and don’t spoil my hopes. This kid might not be Rodri, but if he has a football brain and can pass the ball quickly he will massively improve the Eng side. Have plenty of match winners, need a clever player to do a job

England have players that can do that and do that for their clubs. They don’t have a manager that wants to play that way, well maybe they do now depending on what Carson is going to do but that isn’t Southgate’s style.

He might be good for the job but this reeks of jobs for the boys. If someone like Howe or Potter are available who have managed at a greater level they really should be fully considered.

They haven't played a single minute with him, but still he is the "perfect man for the job". The intention has always been to give him the job permanently, you could figure that out early on.

The whole "interim" path they've gone down is sketchy and possibly just for optic's sake....

Least of all; if they opt to not make him permanent (which I don't suspect will happen), does he get his old job back? Nope; course not.....

Yeah that kind of comment always worries me. All it means is that he's not ruffled any feathers or is taking it easy on the players. Although I guess if he wants the job full time then you wouldnt show your whole hand?

Doesn't say WHO described him as "perfect". Ergo; I would suspect it's just FA-derived PR......... Rather than being born of the players. Similarly, pundits wouldn't typically be shy of putting their name to their opinion.

Don't get this..... One would hold back in their interview and audition?
